Wanted: Suggestions for renaming fictional cities/towns in Slaabovia
I would like some help renaming fictional cities and towns in Slaabovia, please, if you don't mind too much, folks. I'm looking for names that would likely be along the lines of city names that would perhaps fit well enough for people who might speak English, Spanish, French, German, Dutch, Danish, some sort of Chinese, Portuguese, Hebrew and/or Arabic, and perhaps even some sort of language that essentially is a blend of Italian/Latin and Japanese, with perhaps touches of Russian and/or Greek.
This fictional country's ten official languages are Mandarin Chinese, Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Hebrew, Portuguese, Slaabinese, and Spanish. Slaabinese is sort of like a blend of Italian/Latin and Japanese, with perhaps a few touches of Russian and/or Greek, if I remember my plans regarding Slaabinese and related languages/dialects well enough at the current time. I will submit no more than about a dozen names at a time, and let you each take your best stabs at such names, if and when you like. IF you choose to help me, and you might perhaps want to give them Chinese-style names, please try and keep them similar to names like Canton, Tientsin, and older names for various other Chinese cities, but please do not name them after already-known Chinese cities, either on Taiwan or on the mainland. Thanks in advance if any of you decide to help me with renaming certain fictional towns and cities here. It will be much appreciated, for sure. The first six city names I'd like suggestions for replacing the names of are as follows: Amyario Amyburgh Amyton Biedermann Lake Damon River Damonville Any and all suggestions will be considered, and if I pick them, your reward will be one player per chosen suggestion in my new league or leagues, as soon as possible. I will post another thread later that will have the necessary player submission information that you can fill out, for me to modify created players as needed and all with, as time permits and all, once the game creates them, of course. That's all for now, I believe. CD out.

Any other suggestions besides that site, Joe? Thanks for the advice, but I was hoping others might have name suggestions I could use besides ones that site might provide, for instance. CD out.

Which city names listed above are you suggesting be replaced by either Serpent's Bay or Dragon's Bay, Elektranaut? Please advise. Thank you. CD out.

Wow, CD...that is a pretty long and varied list of languages! I've tried my best with a few Mandarin-style names. You probably know that Mandarin is a tonal language and therefore these may have some variant pronunciations, as they are transliterated into the English alphabet. (Mandarin has four different tones, but you may go with more or less as you wish, depending on how you wish to construct the language.)
I'll start with six names, as you provided six: Kong Chueh Kun'tsien Kanakerbiah Lan Chios Baodi Semien The third is my attempt to create a word in your Slaabinese language, as described. The language may have a b/v merger or may leave off the trailing "h", so you have some options there. Lan Chios is another hybrid, as the "-os" would likely not end a Chinese syllable; this would be a Romance language variant, similar to Macao Chinese or perhaps Tagalog. The others are more similar to Cantonese or Mandarin constructions. Hope these help!

No, I didn't know that about Chinese, or any known variant of it. Thank you for the information. Should prove most helpful and useful in the future.
As for the mention of Chinese, I just meant I prefer the previous manner of transliteration of Chinese place names over the system that is primarily used nowadays. Not saying that there is a high percentage of Chinese-language speakers in comparison to speakers of the other mentioned languages listed above in my fictional nation, though. Thank you for the names you just provided here. I'll certainly use them, as the need arises, where appropriate and all. CD out.

Ten more, with a preference to be as close to what might be the case for Slaabinese here as possible, please, if possible:
Perkins Hollow Canterbury Camelot Cambridge Vincennes Alexandria Staples Grand Portage Chisago City Grand Rapids Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. Feel free to ask about words that may already exist for this fictional language, if you think it might help you come up with good place names here, folks, if and when you like, within reason. CD out.

oriole^ gets to suggest six players for one or more future SRL drafts, if and when I ever get that far for the Slaabovia-related dynasty, for I have chosen to use his suggested names for potential places in that country. Please stay tuned for more information if and when possible. If not for that dynasty, then he can suggest them for another dynasty, later, if and when he likes, instead. CD out.

Also, how do I add at least one fictional nation to my present fictional Slaabovia-related dynasty/saved game, but not necessarily to all my other saved games/dynasties, with needed cities, et cetera, even if I may not know the proper coordinates for those fictional cities and towns? Or maybe even add to the in-game weather database for that particular game/dynasty only, most likely? Please advise, if and when you like. Thank you. CD out.

Thanks, CD. Here are a few more suggestions to replace the ten you listed, together with some suggested pronunciations and a hint at influences...again, it's your world, so feel free to change them however you see fit:
La Sionate [lah-sho-NAH-teh] - Italianate/Romance Otavia [oh-TAH-vee-ah] - Romance Morakana [mo-rah-KAH-nah] - Japanese, with Italianate pronunciation/stress Darusse [dah-ROOSH-(ih)] - Romance take on Russian/Slavic. Last syllable should be unaspirated, in other words, almost skipped Lhevitso [h'leh-VEET-so] - Greek/Italian combo, borrowing a Welsh(!) pronunication Shingo [SHIN-GO] - Japanese Dzhangala [d'zhan-GAH-lah] - Slavic/Japanese with Italian stress pattern Beyandos [bay-AHN-dosh] - Slavic with strong Greek influence Xoi [CHOY] - Mandarin/proto-Japanese Ryukoleos [(r)yoo-koh-LAY-os] - Greek/Japanese

You get ten more players as soon as possible, oriole^. Thank you for the new city names, and especially in regards to the methodology, et cetera, that you used to come up with said names. CD out.

Still curious about this sort of thing, or these sorts of things. Can anyone please let me know how I can do that easily enough, and all, without potentially messing up the world_default file, or whatever it's called for OOTP 18, if it's not too much trouble here? CD out.

I had a short list of potential cities somewhere for another potential related nation called Ruifrapso Sokumi AKA Professor Advice, but I seem to have misplaced or lost it for at least the time being, unfortunately.
I remember at least one of the names was Ruifrapso Sokumi City, AKA Professor Advice City, but I don't currently recall the other city names, if I haven't totally lost the list permanently by now. I do have some other names for potential cities in that fictional nation, whether old or new, and they are as follows: Bejaco Roglacolt Jaroston Mesostis Maholin Honeti Anashe Enantwa Pasbont Calwanelpe I think I'd need about another thirty or so towns or cities, at most, in that same fictional country, whether or not I find the earlier list I mentioned somewhere eventually. I'd like the cities to have names reminiscent of, but not necessarily exactly like, real Japanese, Spanish, Hebrew, English, Slaabinese, and Gaelic-style city names. But I'm unfortunately not very good with certain kinds of linguistic developments or naming conventions, just yet, it seems. Not even for Slaabinese or any potential parental languages/dialects/whatever, at that. I'd generally envision Ruifrapso Sokumi to be located somewhere near Slaabovia, in a yet-undetermined direction, but perhaps still within the same time zone, somehow. They'd be close enough to share many of the same linguistic characteristics, at least, but still at least far enough away that there is still at least some difference between them linguistically, socially, and culturally, et cetera. Also, both would be fictional nations somewhere in the North Atlantic Ocean on the same Earth, I'd figure. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide here regarding Ruifrapso Sokumi, et cetera, of course, folks. Most of the provided names should mainly be influenced by Hebrew, Slaabinese, English, and Gaelic, but some can have more of a Japanese or Spanish feel instead of ones more like the other four mentioned languages in this post, if you think that might be best here. Please use the above names as a guide, if you like, in order to perhaps create those names. Same rewards will be offered here, of course, as with names for other places in Slaabovia, for sure, folks. CD out.

Here are two files created through Word Perfect, LibreOffice and OpenOffice, at least, if not also Notepad. Please feel quite free to view these, and perhaps you can come up with some fairly good city names for various places, especially in Slaabovia, in the future, folks. If you might possibly need any more information about Slaabovia, for example, or Slaabinese, please don't be afraid to ask, within reason. CD out.
P.S. Slaabinese and its parent languages/dialects/whatever have never had, do not have, and will not have, any profane, obscene, or vulgar words in it or them. Or at least originally they never had any, before the periodic influence of various other languages on it or them, anyway. Please keep that in mind here, as you try to help me out here, if and when you do, okay? CD out.

Regular verbs with an -ar ending conjugate as follows, normally, at least in the present tense:
-o (I/first person) -as (you/second person) -a (you/third person/formal, et cetera, much like Spanish, for example) -amos (we) -aís (you/plural, et cetera) -an (they, et cetera) -er, -ir, -or, and -ur regular verbs conjugate similarly. However, in the case of -ir verbs, the fifth ending is not -iís, but -ís. All other vowels have themselves just before the accented I in the verb ending, much as Spanish, for instance, might have for itself. As for irregular verbs, their endings depend on the last vowel for them. If the last vowel for them is an A, for example, the endings are as follows: -cha -aste -az -caphos -caphaís -caphen The other four vowels have their irregular verb endings operate normally on the same principle, at least for the present tense. Most verbs in Slaabinese are regular verbs, but I have not totally determined that yet, seeing as I don't have many words yet collected or created for it, apparently. Or I have misplaced or lost certain related notes, I think. Hope this information helps here. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide here to me with related matters, folks. CD out.

Here's a file of English-language words that need to have Slaabinese equivalents for them, if possible, as soon as possible. Perhaps you can look it and the second file already shared here over, and mix and match them together as you like and think best? Just a thought here, folks. Thanks in advance, if you help me further here, of course. CD out.
