Player being "released" but not going against the cap

Just noticed a few of these where the computer "releases" a player but no buyout occurs and the money is not being carried against the cap.

Adam Pelech is one player I noticed

IRL Adam Pelech is signed until after the 2028/29 season

Here are their cap hits (James Reimer is in the AHL for example)

Anyone know what might be causing this?

Started a new sim as unemployed and this happened before the 2023/24 season

Not listed on the cap obligations either

Can you show me the player Bio pages for those two? The timing and details are wrong for compliance buyouts and mutual termination, which would be exempt from the cap, but I've tested the buyout procedure on them and it seems to work normally, and looking through a few test saves Muzzin and Pelech always seem to complete their contracts normally in them.

Here you go Jeff. I also added one for Bobrovsky who was probably the first guy I noticed (because the Jets had 3 goalies signed long term making more than $4m a piece).

Note - These are two different sims. The one with Muzzin is a purely spectator sim where I am unemployed and all settings are on the default.

Odd, no obvious pattern to their timing, and they definitely don't fit a situation where compliance buyout or mutual termination can occur. I'll have to keep an eye on this while we're testing the new builds and see if I can spot what's going on. I don't see anything similar in my most recent test saves, though.
