I know it's kinda funny to ask for advice from my competitors, but should I go with Mordecai Brown, Josh Beckett or save up a bit longer for a 97 Randy Johnson for my next rotation upgrade?

Randy underachieved for me for several seasons, but his price got watered down so much that I couldn't bring myself to sell him and installed him as my stopper. YMMV.

I think that is the best place for all Randy’s even the 100. Let him get the Ks in relief time and not give up HRs in inning 4-7.

My Randy has 16 WAR over 5.75 seasons in Perfect Leagues. You can decide for yourself if that is good enough. I'm not thrilled, but it could be worse I suppose.

obviously your results will vary, but here's Brown's brief history with me so far on my diamond league team:

Here's my 97 Randy. Most of this was with a ballpark that slightly favors hitters.

the downside of going with an old timey lineup of pre-ww2 players is, the vast majority of them have craptacular defensive ratings (which is why my team is typically 30th in the league in zone rating and such).... the park factors were actually default ratings for 2026-2028... I just tweaked them slightly this season but overall they actually should hamper offense (.971 avg / .931 hr) definitely expected better from Brown, so hopefully one of these seasons he pulls his cranium from his rectum and remembers who he is... (in 2028, when Brown went 7-14; Dizzy Trout went 21-9 pitching just ahead of him, so can't really blame the lineup/defense for all of his woes) |

I found the 97 Randy really streaky FWIW. Capable of some good runs, but never seemed to wow me with his stats at the end of the year at Perfect level. Beckett is a little up and down too, although I've had some decent years with him too. Probably take Johnson over him but not by as much as you'd think. Never had Mordecai but my teams all seem to hit him pretty well. For the money those guys are I can think of a couple guys I've done better with overall but your mileage may vary... |

The team yelling has occurred. Hopefully it is enough to shake the Breakers tailspin because a 9-14 August with a suddenly cold offense (averaging just 3 runs a game) will not hold down even a wild card spot. Changes must be made...

Wow....so who is the 4th team to be relegated?
I am not sure if we ever had this before but we have 10 teams trying to stay away from that last relegation spot. |

Should be an interesting Saturday. Really all divisions are still in play, and all wild cards. |
