Runtime error
Hi, I got a problem about runtime error, that happens every ends of season starting 3 or 4 seasons ago on june 30th when simming to july 1st (I'm on 2032 Path to Glory).
It was possible to sim to the next season after trying several times, for now I can't go further. I tried with different saves...same results! What can I do? thanks |

Runtime errors in the PC version of the game usually tend to be caused by an out-of-date or corrupted version of Microsoft's Visual C++ Runtime libraries on your computer. It's been quite a while since I've seen one, though; I'm not sure if Windows 10's updating did something to kill them off or what, but they've become a lot rarer. I'm guessing you're on Windows 8 or earlier?
The first thing to try is reinstalling the runtimes using this file from Microsoft: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down....aspx?id=53840 (there are two versions to choose from, you want the x86 one) If that doesn't work, let me know and we'll have to take a closer look (and we may need to see one of your save files.) |

You are guessing well, I'm on Windows Vista,
I downloaded Visual C++ 2015 using your link provided but it fail to install (with an error message writing down: 0*80070424 - The specified service does not exist as an installed service) So do I try to reinstall all previous Visual C++, or my windows version is just too old and explain why it cannot support when the saves are getting bigger, or something else is wrong into my system? |

Ah, I think you need an older version with Vista. Try this one:

I can install that one but it doesn't resolve the problem!

OK, I think we'll need to have a look at one of your saved games next to see if there's some issue there we can see. There are instructions for uploading them to our ftp site here, or you can put them on a file sharing site like filedropper.com or dropbox and let me know the link.

We tried the save on several different systems, and it won't crash for any of us, so it looks like it's something specific to your system. I think the best thing to do at this point would be for you to submit a ticket to our tech support (http://support.ootpdevelopments.com/...Tickets/Submit) - they're a little more experienced at working through the potential problems that could be causing it. Mention in the ticket what I've had you try so far, and that the save doesn't crash for us; that'll probably make it easier for them to diagnose.

Well, I submitted to them, will see if they can resolve it, otherwise it doesn't matter... life goes on.
And a great thanks to you trying to help me! |
