32-team no off day schedule
May I please request a set of 32-team (8 divisions of 4 teams each) schedules that works like this:
18 games (six 3-game series) each against 3 division opponents = 54 games 8 games (two 4-game series) each against 12 league opponents = 96 games 3 games (one 3-game series) each against 4 interleague opponents from one division = 12 games, 6 home and 6 away 54 + 96 +12 = 162 games Since there are 22 (3-game) series and 24 (4-game) series, I thought it is possible to split the schedule into two halves evenly: one 4-game series on the opening weekend, then each week contains one 4-game and one 3-game series. The first half ends with 9 division series, 12 league series and 2 interleague series. Then there is a 3-day All-Star period. Then the second half begins with another one 4-game series starting on the Thursday of the All-Star week, then one 4-game and one 3-game series for the remaining weeks. So the second half also has 9 division series, 12 league series and 2 interleague series. In other words, apart from the 3-day All-Star period, there are NO off days at all (imagine what the MLBPA would say about this). The schedule starts on the first Thursday of April, and ends mid-September (in 24 weeks). The All-Star period would appear at the end of June (after week 12). I presume this looks quite straightforward. So may I ask for a complete set of 8 schedules, with the first 4 complete the rotation of 4 interleague divisions, the last 4 flip the interleague home and aways. Some additional requirement, if not too troublesome: The 4 interleague series appear once each in May, June, July and August, all on weekends. 3-game series and 4-game series lay out relatively evenly, instead of having 3-game series all on weekends, 4-game series all on workdays or the other way around. 4-game league opponents also lay out relatively evenly, instead of having a team playing entire division in one month, then another divion in another month. Thanks in advance. |
