This is certainly a problem, European teams in the game should roll more the four lines. Me and Lazion already asked the developers to have a look at this part of the game and hopefully this can be worked out.

I can't talk for Lazion and for the Finnish research, but this is certainly not a priority for now, as you can imagine it's a very time-consuming task.

This is a big problem because they don't use players secondary positions. That's why many players doesn't play any game in the season. Should fix!

I didn't have enough time to go trough all SanteS's post. Got little tired.
I'll go trough rest of TPS, Tappara and Ässät players tomorrow and if we get a chance to edit database before Wednesday I'll add tweaks in there.

And when we researchers can get our hands on beta with updated db I'll run few test sims and track those players who are tweaked.

This is little frustating currently because of trial - wait - error - wait - etc. progress.

Lazion, is there any way at the moment how I could be of help in terms of SM-League ?

I'm ready to take new challenges...

I thought that it is not possible to help about players histories at the moment because I don't have any tool to create them ?

There's still lot of work in SM-liiga, but currently there's not much to do except testing and finding mistakes so we can relax for a while before last push.

JeffR mentioned player histories in The Beta: What to Expect -thread

I'm hoping we can reach an agreement with one of the big database sites to use their information, rather than going through the nightmare of entering it all manually

3rd goalie actually, Ore and Riksman had injuries. Anyway he's capable of being backup in SM-liiga for sure.

I think some of the players (like Kuusela and Huhtala from Blues) aren't so badly overachieved in your games, it's more about the too many icetime for 1st liners thing. And well Kuusela is nowadays very all-around player and most likely will get a very good contract for next season - maybe moving abroad. Huhtala is more power forward like goal scorer.

The actual rules goes (2012-2013 The Juniors are born in 1993 or after)

Four of the skaters can be born in 1992 or one of them can be born between 01.05.1990-31.12.1991, providing that that player has a professional contract with the SM-Liiga or First division (Mestis) Team. A Player born between 01.05.1990-31.12.1991 can play a maximum of 10 regular season games.

In the play-off or play-down series, teams can use four (4) skaters born in 1992 and one (1) goalie. Players older than that are no allowed.
So any part of the rules that are do-able, I'd say go for it.

Database update is coming soon, so I updated research update list in 2nd post.

I runned one SML test season with updated db to see how tweaks actually transformed in to game.
I tracked couple of tweaked players who are in SanteS list and I can see the change in performance in most of them, but there are few players who are performing at same or better level.
This made me wonder if all attibutes are impleted in to game yet..

Overall balance between teams seems to be good enough. There's still few teams over- or underperforming, but there are lot of variety between simulated seasons and projected stats per game is not correct in league settings so things can change.

I made this list when I compared GA/GF stats between game and real life.
Bad underachievement
Jokerit (defensive, lot of injuries)
KalPa (offensive)

Mild underachievement
Ässät (offensive)
JYP (offensive)

Bad overachievement
Blues (offensive, mild defensive overachievement)

Mild overachievement
HIFK (defensive)
Pelicans (defensive)
Ilves (defensive)

Is there any new news about these ? And when budgets and salaries should be correct ?
Because when the budgets, salaries and foreign rules are fixed then we are able to play the game more than just one season. Hopefully understand

What's wrong with 17 years old goalie serving as a backup for 18 year old British goalie in SML or team spending 2/3 of player budget for first line or team full of foreigners or whatelse?

I'll try to tune player budgets on my own during this week if I can, so another fix is coming in next wednesday.
I don't know when bronze medal game is coming.. eventually it have to come.
Missing rules are on the way at some point. There's much more work to do with missing KHL and other high priority league rules atm.

Haha I'm starting to sound like a parliamentarian.

Database update is coming tomorrow so I updated 2nd post in this thread.

List seems to be short compared to time what I spended with the db.. those stats are really frustating and time consuming to add.

I tweaked SML player abilities once again to keep you guys fresh. I'm not going to touch those anymore.. atleast not until when we can add correct projected average stats in game and when developers fixes atoi spread and shines AI to use player positions more effectively.

Just a quick peek for upcoming database update.

I tweaked SML salary levels and salaries are now more realistic.
SML teams doesn't stockpile foreigners after first season anymore. Teams might still sign too many Scandinavians, but atm I can't do anything about it.

I'm currently researching Suomi-sarja and in next week's update there's atleast full rosters with basic info in every SS team.

Shaun Heshka's month of birth in the DB is incorrect. It should be July rather than June.

Nothing much. I'v been researching Suomi-Sarja and it take a while until finished. In SS theres mostly just players added and all goalies rated. I'm looking for player positions and any available info about players and it's time consuming.

I probably have to do something about those overrated Mestis players whenever we are getting it playable. There seems to be few players who can put up good numbers in SML.
