I agree with your original post. Unless you purchase points a perfect is only accessible through pack pulls and even that is pure luck.

Diamonds can be found for 5kish on the ah and it's not impossible to get to that amount of pp with a good season.

Three teams on my account, each set of initial packs came with a RP as the gold for the team. What are the odds?

Open packs and they seemed fine to help supplement a starting team, but not good enough to be worth 1k for a team needing to fill in holes. Think I would rather save up the points and buy/sell smartly in the AH.

I just bought two packs after reading this. Gold Altuve and Gold Dave Henderson in the first pack Gold Grandal in the second pack. Definitely better than I would have done in the AH. Out of PP now but hopefully one of my pitchers will have another 4K inning and get me 2500 PP again.
