I think it still works. I didnt have a problem running it. Only with the duplicate players. I think that may have been something i did. I ran a test season and the duplicate players did not appear. When i am ready to run the 84 season again i will run another test season and save the league at the beginning of each month. Im going on vacation next week so it might be awhile before i can continue.

I have restarted the 1884 season. I think what i thought was duplicate players was just the player history from the different leagues. Oh well i
was able to correct some things and spent more time on the rotations so it might actually work better. As soon as i get to June ill post some standings.

Simmed up to July 1st 1884. Doesnt look like Radbourn will get 59 wins. I will give Providence a 1 man rotation after Charlie Sweeney is traded and they do have 50+ games for Radbourn to start but im thinking ootp may find him to be more worn down than in real life. Id like to see him get 59 but i dont think it will happen.
The Maroons dont look as invincible as the real thing. But it looks like theyve had some injuries and i believe they get Sweeney from Providence to bolster their pitching at the end of July.

Standings and news at the end of July.
Looks like Radbourn has a chance for 59 wins. I think he had 21 when Sweeney was traded on July 23. Providence was 9.5 gb at the time.
However it looks like Jack Lynch from the Metropolitans may have a better season than Radbourn did in the real league.
James Burke for the Reds is having a great season in the UA. Looks like the Maroons are being challenged. In Burke's case i think his stats have swollen due to injuries. In Lynch's case he does have help in Tim Keefe so i dont think his stats are due to pitching injuries but rather New York having a good team.

Rabourn is on fire. He has taken Providence from 91/2 back to 1/2 gb as of August 13 1884.
Jack lynch won his last 3 games to hold the lead in wins 34 to 30 over Radborn. The Maroons are still battling it out in the UA unlike the real thing.
Listening to the audio book "59 in 84" while i sim 1884.
Its turning out better than the first try at simming 1884. Enjoying this sim year.

Standings and news as of sep 1st 1884.
Got a heck of a race in the National League. Kinda feel bad for the top teams in the AA as they would have a good lead in the NL.
Jack Lynch is still going strong but it looks like Radbourn is gonna tire out. He has gone 3-7 in the last 10 games. I think Providence has 28 games left. I think he can only lose 2 games the rest of the way. Makes you appreciate what Radbourn did in the real NL even more.

The AA & NL seasons are over. The New York Metropolitans will take on the Chicago White Stockings for the championship.
Radbourn could only manage 51 wins and could not keep pace with Chicago who went 42-5 from August 1st. The Metropolitans had probably the best pitching combination with Jack Lynch going 54-13 and Tim Keefe tossing in a 33-7 record. Chicago's staff wasnt far behind with Larry Corcoran's 34-19 and John Clarkson's 23-2 records. Dan Brouthers won the batting title by hitting .369 to Ezra Sutton's .368. Even though Sutton had 1 more hit than Brouthers. 179 to 178.
In the Union Association there is a 2 team race with 3 games left. However the Cincinnati Outlaw Reds have no games left and can only await the outcome of the Boston Reds-Maroons series.
All in all it was quite a year to sim. 1884 was probably one of the best years ive simmed.

1884 Final UA Standings. I figured out why the Maroons were not as good as they were in the real thing. I somehow forgot to put Fred Dunlap on the team. I enjoyed this sim and it takes awhile to sim so i will just think of it as a year he was injured or just held out. I doubt if he would make the hall of fame.

If theres any stats you wanna see from 1884 just let me know.

I was able to proceed to 1885 with no major problems. I do have to delete some fictional players. Since theres no UA rookies i guess the game just made fictional players. I deleted the Union Association after Jan 1st 1885.
The UA players are still in the league history and in the league so thats good.
I think i can avoid fictional players if i can delete the league before proceeding to the UA offseason. When i reach 1890 i will have a good idea of how to handle the three leagues.

1885 Final Standings. As for the HSA i have only adjusted pitching staffs here and there. Sometimes i may not have noticed a team had only 1 starter due to injuries. But hey thats the 19th century for ya. I let the computer pick the lineups. Other than that i dont touch the league totals.
