My current active sim

Here is a screenshot of my current historical sim where I have one division with teams from 1930-1960, another 1960-1990, another 1990-present, & in the first place, 1900-1930. Who do you think will make the playoffs, be in the World Series out of these teams and based on the present standings? i WILL UPDATE THIS THREAD WITH RESULTS.

Obviously the '57 Braves will win it all and the '82 Cardinals will choke I have my reasons!

Timeless World Series set

It will be the 1904 Chicago White Sox vs. the 1988 New York Mets in a best-of-9 battle.

Game 1

The 1988 New York Mets took game 1 in the bottom of the 11th on a Kevin McReynolds single off of Nick Altrock, who pitched the entire 10-2/3 innings for the White Sox.

The series isn't over yet, but more proof that Tommy Lasorda was a good manager & Orel Hershiser a great pitcher. The '88 Mets do fantastically well in OOTP sims in my experience. They won 100 games that year but the Dodgers took them down in the NLCS. Things haven't been the same in Metsville since.

Game 2

1988 New York Mets defeat '04 White Sox to take 2-0 lead in series, as they touch up Ed Walsh for 3 earned runs in 6 innings & go on to win the game by the score of 8-6.

Stay tuned...

Game 3

The 1904 Chicago White Sox come back from the brink of a loss and an 0-3 series deficit in game 3 with 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th off of Mets' relief ace Roger McDowell to win the game by the score of 7-6. They trailed 6-5 going into the half inning.

The series is now 2-1, in favor of the 1988 NYM after 3 games.

Game 4

1904 Chicago White Sox tied the series at 2 in game 4, outscoring the Mets 2-1. Frank Owen went the distance on the mound for the ChiSox.

Game 5

Sid Fernandez for the Mets & Ed Walsh for the White Sox were both practically perfect in their game 5 starts but the '88 Mets, more specifically Dave Magadan, finally plated a run against Walsh in the 9th inning to abruptly end the game & give the Mets a 3 games to 2 advantage in the Best of 9 Series. Sid Fernandez pitched 9 shutout innings.

Game 6

In game 6, Ron Darling pitched 9 innings while allowing 3 runs & Darryl Strawberry hit 2 HRs for the 1988 New York Mets. The Mets won game 6, 6-3 and now have a 4-2 lead in the best of 9 series.

The White Sox will have to win 3 in a row to avoid defeat.

I recently witnessed the 1908? Cubs (Brown, Overall) come back from a 4-1 deficit to win a 9 game series against the 1967? Boston Red Sox (Yaz & Lonborg & Co.) in another one of my historical just for fun/study sims.

Game 7

Mets win game 7, (3-2) & the series, (5-2).

Too much solid pitching & solid players everywhere...Dwight Gooden throws a complete game allowing 2 runs.
