Lightbulb New transaction screen / stars ratings

Check this out:
http://ootpdevfiles.com/ootp/screens/trans.jpg

Each little player box now allows you to display ratings, along with the overall rating and overall potential rating of the scout you have currently selected (upper right corner).

This is supported in the team transaction screen and the trade screen. With the overall ratings visible there, you won't need any stars

I will make the overall ratings soon visible in the big player lists as well, but this takes some more coding time because that list is sortable and filters can be applied. So this is something for a second patch or a later update.

The potential rating in the shot you posted--is that going to be in the first patch?

Sure, that'll do. Just something that permits a quick evaluation of the players in an organization. It didn't necessarily have to be little blue/gold stars.

Thanks.

I have a question. Looking at the picture. The 3B at the very top left has like an overall rating of like 40 something and then the guy right below him has like 20. Is it because he is more developed? If I use all 1-20 scales for everything, will it only be 1-20 on overall ratings?

This is a nice look for a quick "overall" rating. I like it.

It'S a 20-80 scale here, like the real life scouts use.

This is the only the more I would like to see...then player evaluation will be about as close to perfect in this game as I could ever expect.

The overall/potential are on a 20-80 scale. Overall would correspond to ratings, while potential would correspond to talent (in 6.5).

So a guy with 47 overall is more developed than a guy with 20 overall. But to see how good they *could* be, you'd want to look at the potential column (and the guy with 58 potential is of course on track to be better than the guy with 27 potential).

No chance of that scale becoming editable like the rest of the ratings?

I think what this guy is asking is will there be a way to distinguish between veterans who have reached their potential (gold stars) and prospects who still have further potential (blue stars)?

Thanks

The player's age, combined with his overall/potential ratings should tell you as much as the stars did, and probably more. A player who was 24 with extremely low ratings & extremely high potential was considered a 5* blue prospect in OOTP6, but was just filler realistically. The second he turned 25 (or 26, maybe) he became a 1* gold player.
