Broke Negotation; Signs Contract 2 Days Later
So I've been going back and forth on my 30 year old SP acquisition. He's a great leader but he's aging and he's more of a middle of the rotation kinda guy. Anyway we have been negotiating. From 5 years down to 3 but we couldn't agree on the average salary. He ended up breaking off negotiations and said he didn't want to discuss right now. Fine. Sometimes it happens.
I play a couple games and go on the next day and get a notification that he had signed his contract. It wasn't the first offer but it wasn't the offer before he broke off negotiations. As far as I was aware I had never officially submitted. I never got a message saying he was considering an offer. Anybody else see something like this? I'm happy he will be back. Its a solid contract apart from the opt out. But if I had moved on it would have put us in a bind since I didn't even know there was an offer on the table since he broke off negotiations. Bug or not?

My guess is your owner singed him. He can do that unless you have that option turned off.

Its possible. But I'm 6 years in and I haven't had that happen and I am pretty sure (not sitting at home in front of the PC) my owner is hands off. Also its one of the deals we had discussed but I had changed and asked what he thought.
Either way it works out. Bummed it has that opt out but happy it was the 3 year deal and not the original 6 he wanted. He's solid and great in the clubhouse but he's 30 and 6 years for a mid rotation SP just isn't something I want to do lol.
