Promoted to ? every single day

A GM in my league has two guys who show up every day as being promoted from AAA to... well.. nowhere.

See here: http://www.tubf.net/ttrans19.html

Quote:
Monday 4/25/2005 :

Stanley Roof was promoted from AAA Buckhead Knights to .
Nicholas Mallory was promoted from AAA Buckhead Knights to .
Stanley Roof was promoted from AAA Buckhead Knights to .
Nicholas Mallory was promoted from AAA Buckhead Knights to .
This is a daily occurence.

The first guy, Stanley Roof, has some whacked stats: 79 HRA in his career in 0 IP. A WHIP of 1.#J

The second guy doesn't appear to have any oddities with his numbers.

Also, neither player has played an ounce this season (2005).

Any ideas?

How long has this league been running? Where is the person now? Have you had to use a back-up anytime recently?

Ok, after looking at the HTML, it looks like that is what the problem is. I think you can fix that by opening the HTML in an editor and deleting the instances where it says he was promoted.

I have not had to use a back up yet. 104 years is the age of the league.

The players are nowhere to be found... not on any roster anywhere; big-league or minors.

As for the HTML... since it's a result of what happens in-game, what good would editing it do?

I also see some guys who are sent from AA to AAA one day, then back down to AA the next, then up to AAA the next, and so on...

Editing would remove it from the HTML and not put it back up. That is what I did when I had the problem and it never came up again. . Is it happening on Human Controled teams as well as computer controlled teams?

Dola, I remember what I did now. I went into the league_news_folder and deleted all the ttrans#.txt files and when the game remade them, that took care of it happening a again. I then went to the html file and edited it.

I would not think it would rebuild the past.

Ok. I have gone ahead and looked and it seems that this is outside just Html. If you go into your league file you can see that Roof is part of the file. If you do a search by player name it says that he is on the team. If you go to Florida and go to rosters select all and sort by the alphabet, you will see him, but I can not find him any other way. It looks like when you ended the season something got messed up. I will stop making suggestions now because this is something Markus needs to look at.

which file is that from? The full file is from pre-opening day, and therefore is not current.

so, in your opinion, do you think the game is fine and it's just that the HTML files that are being generated are crap?

No, I think there is something wrong in the game. If you do a search in the game for Roof, you find him on Florida. But he is not on Florida. There is something going on in the file. You can even offer him and extension and everything on the game, but he is not on the team. Markus may have to take a look. When I had the problem it was just Html, this, IMHO seems like it is more.
