Okay, in your specific case it could be something with the league itself since you have not tried other types or leagues.

It's happened now with the fictional league that is the default of the game.

Well, try a custom league...."as you stated" the default league is just the real players minus the names so it is the CBL roster set that many people are having issues with.
Custome league WITH fictional players NOT default.

I continue to crash as well. I know it is not a system problem. I can get into a league 2 to 3 seasons then around July I start to crash. I have checked over the lineups and pitching staffs, that isn't it. It has happened in 5 leagues so far, I tried a Lahman import league from 1931, got to 1934 before I began to crash. I have tried a 2004 default (not CBL) career league, I have tried a 2004 CBL career league, and I 1975 fictional career league. In each one I get approx. 2 seasons in then crash, normally always in July, sometimes in August.

I'm getting this same problem after about 2-3 months into the season. All of a sudden, it just crashes when I try to sim past a certain point (Frist franchise it was May 25th, Second franchise it was July 8th)
This really needs to be fixed, and I didn't see any double sin the lineups. |

I've been having the same problem when I sim-ed the one team I am controlling. I re-played the same games many times (in one case 6 times) where I sim-ed a half-inning at a time. It consistantly crashed when the other team (the one controlled by AI ) was about to be at bat and in a position where it was very likely going to pinch-hit for its pitcher. I looked and did not notice any irregularities in its lineup (IE Duplication of names)
Hope this helps |

I think I may have found a way around this one. It seems that the crashes come from having a player from a human team on the 60 day DL (I am not positive, but it seems like this is true). I have gotten around it by making my team computer controlled, running computer manager on the league then simming a few more weeks (you may be able to do it with less than a few weeks, this was just what I tried.) I am back into the league now, and I am 1 1/2 seasons from my last crash, although I have not put anyone on the 60 day DL either.

I just ran into this same problem in the 4th season of my league. I cannot sim or play MY game. I was able to manually sim all of the other games for that day, but it crashes when I do mine. I had just put a player on the 60 day DL right before this so it may have something to do with that as mentioned above. The guy is out for the seasonand now in the DL box it shows that he has 0 days left on the DL....

ACibella's 60-day DL fix worked for me.
I was having the same problem in August of 2005 using CBL Rosters. I uninjured my guys and took them off the DL entirely using the editor (I had two players on the 60 day DL, 1 had just been put there from my 25-man roster when the problem started). Month later and the game still hasn't crashed. Nice work ACibella. |

The same problem was happening for me but I had put a player on the 15 day DL, not the 60 day DL.

The game crashes on sim. I restart the game, and sim again. Within a few days the game crashes. I'm hoping this is the same as what has been fixed, but am not confident that it is. Were others able to sim past the original crash at all? |

I'm having the same problem, but it's the first day of the season!
Checked rosters of both teams (a human controlled and an AI team) and they're both ok. note that if I try and sim it crashes, also if i try to play the game, it crashes when I hit a key for the first PITCH! Ideas? Onnel |

I'm in the same boat as Onnel. I set up a fictional league starting in 1960 (which led to some very weird ages less than zero as I mentioned in a different thread). I did the draft and then played an exhibition game before starting the season. I noticed that the starting pitcher for the team I control was now listed with stats from the exhibition game but all the other players on both teams still had zero stats. I went ahead and hit "Sim Month", but it crashed after playing the last game on opening day. All games from the first day are completed, but it's like it's stuck while compiling stats and moving on to day 2. I've tried "Sim Day" but it crashes again each time. I can't sim each game manually because they are already played. So, I'm dead in the water until I get past this problem.
I've tried to go through the depth charts and looked for duplications, but I haven't found any problem yet, although I still have a couple of teams left. The only other unusual thing I did before opening day was to demote a couple of position players and promote a couple of pitchers from AAA because I didn't think 9 pitchers was enough. I suppose I'll go ahead and start a new league and see if that does any better. I made a few errors on this one while I was drafting due to not understanding a few things for a while, but I thought my team came out pretty well anyway and I was looking forward to seeing how it would play out.
