Super long team names
Some people choose a super long name for their team. Like super long (there was a team named for the Picachu movie in one of my leagues and this year I'm looking at 'Long Beach-Compton Laborers for Anarcho-Syndicalism'
Long names don't bother me per se - everyone paid for the game, call your team whatever you want. But the issue is that very long team names tend to mess up many of the tables and displays (including the line scores for games). Would it be possible for you guys to set some sort of maximum number of characters you display in these situations, and truncate team names that are too long? If you want to put ellipses at the end of the truncated string that's ok with me. Thanks |

Maybe it's wrong. But I usually report those teams and just comment 'team name is too long'
I also hate to be that guy, but I also report offensive team names. The mildly offensive or childish I let go. But I have seen a small handful of really offensive team names and I have reported them but they have stayed in my league the entire week. Not a massive deal since offensive to me just means 'why would any adult do that?' I am not going to quit the game over it. But it seems like moderation times could be a bit faster. Or maybe I am easily offended? |

people like you are the reason real report-worthy behavior takes so long to address in games

In a smooth system, every letter string amounting to the S-word, F-word, N-word, any sort of reference to genitals, and 20 other things, even when cleverly hidden inside another word or split across several words, should automatically be flagged as invalid and returned to the player by the system or flagged for manual review by the game developers, who having given a playground to the people should be responsible for policing it, too, rather than having said people do it. That way, 80% of nefarious stuff would barely even make it into the game in the first place. It should not take three weeks and 30 reports to get a team name like (I just made this up, because I am very creative and weird) Pen Island Club Swingers removed from the game.

You have to be very careful with censors, this has been annoying in certain games like Dark Souls. If your team was the Bass Players, they would instead show up as the B*** Players, etc.
I agree with the OP that there should be a character limit, and the report button should work far more quickly. I reported that Pikachu team and it was never fixed, don't know if it is still like that. |

I guess that's the difference because I would never think to report Pen Island, would just mildly chuckle if I ever saw it and go about my day. I don't even notice 80% of the other team names in my leagues anyway since I seem to be one of the few people who cares more about my team than what everyone else is doing.

I don't think it has to be strict, but a few owners definitely go over the top to get attention and some of it is in bad taste. I would agree not to clamp down hard - but the most obvious ones should be asked to change their names.

So what's the over/under on the Golden Showers? I just saw that one on the leaderboards during the TWIPT stream from yesterday. PT doesn't need any of this sort of crap.
