Almost 4 GB, Steve.

It's still crashing. The error report we get says that it's generating a log of errors - where can we see this log? Perhaps that will help.

I'm trying everything, but I still crash out every so often.

Steve, did anyone else report this issue besides us? (Search option disabled).

Does Steve or anyone have any ideas?

edit - steve, any knowledge of the error report log the error message speaks of?

Several are reporting the error not sure where the log would be.

I did no converting or changing of any kind.

Basically, all I did was start a fictional league, and sim a day, week, or month at a time, checking out new features and stuff.

So I don't think that's it. I was figuring it was a 2000 problem initially, but Steve says his works fine, and another reports the same problem with XP.

BREAKING NEWS: I recieved another error message. Everything the same except it says "showhtml.exe" has generated errors.

WTF?

I had the same thing happen. I am also running Win2k. I had had it running for about 5 minutes and it crashed on me when I was trying to look at a player's stats.

Have you tried unlicensing and just uninstall and reinstalling the game. Couldn't hurt at this point.

Damn..... Well, if there's any sort of error log or anything else I can report Steve, let me know and I'll post it. Until we can find a fix of some sort, I will wait patiently.

Ok folks, I went to the game configuration.exe file and disabled direct 3d and sound.

So far, no crashes. I'm trying like hell to crash it, flipping from one html report to the next, from screen to screen. So far, nothing has happened.

So, try that. Let me know. (unless people have already done this?)

So, this is wierd. I'm fooling around with it, and all of the sudden windows asks me (i think it's windows, not OOTP, because of the graphic box) "This page contains over 250 files. Are you sure you want to open it?" And I click yes, and the whole thing freezes. So I minimize OOTP to see if perhaps there was another program running, but there was not, and now the game has froze, minimized, at the bar at the bottom of the screen.

What was that?

Boy, that is beginning to sound more than on OS problem that a game problem. Have you been having other issues? Done a clean install lately? Scandisk, defrag?

Steve, this cpu has no problems that I'm aware of. Acually, until today I'd say it's been error free...

So, I don't think so. Perhaps the strange error I got about the files and pages was just a random glitch cause I was trying to crash the game. I don't know.

Since I went through that whole "off-line" license issue before, I don't know if that's such a good idea now. =)

I guess ViaTech said that everything was fine, though, huh? Perhaps I'll give it a whirl.

Sorry to bother you so much, Steve. I'm sure you know how it is....I just wanna play it, ya know?

I have done the same thing, and my preliminary results are that the game does not crash anymore. Although I've only played for about a half hour. I'll keep you updated.

Of course if this works it's great, but I don't want to have to play it this way.

Definitely. Although I'm going out drinking for the rest of night. I'll give you an update tomorrow after I've had a few good hours of additional play time
