Cause that's what it is becoming, if i understand right! We were just waiting for a patch that implemented the new Match Engine and instead we will have a pre-beta FHM2... well ......

A long time ago we made the promise to re-write the Match Engine from ground and release it as patch for FHM 2014. As we said numerous times, it was a very bad promise (something we will never do again). Re-doing the Match Engine takes a long time and made it impossible to release needed patches for the 2014 version (like the Mac situation or bug fixing). In the end it also had a bad influence on FHM 2015 development as well. Our solution now works and finally gives us a proper way to develop the series in the future but yes, if I could go back in time and change one thing I would not promise the Match Engine re-design as a patch again.

I think it is just the devs honouring their promise to provide the new match engine and we get to try it out before FHM2. Sounds good to me and commendable on the devs part.

Is it too intrusive to ask what programming language is primarily used for FHM?

FHM uses C++ as programming language.

The game is written in C++, for the GUI we use Qt (which is also C++).

they've stated that the updated rosters will not be coming to FHM14, but rather to FHM2.

The last 2014 patch will have an 2014/15 season data update so you have something to play with until FHM 2 is released.

Is there any update if we will be able to activate natively in OS X again or will we still have to go through steam. I find the steam version crashes all the time, like every 5 minutes on me after multiple installs even.

FWIW Sebastian asked elsewhere that we take this conversation away from the FHM forums since the topics here are FHM related. Let's respect that.
OOTP has been nice enough to let us discuss it and there's a thread currently over here: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ng-back-3.html

Out of respect to the developers an FHM thread should not be populated by posts predicting the demise of their product due to EHM. Things like a comparison thread are different, but that was not the tone of the posts that were moved. This is a thread for FHM updates, so please keep it to that and move general discussions on EHM to the thread above. |

I know it's been asked many times but can anyone answer this person's question? The FHM 1 update is long overdue...By now there should've been progress hopefully and I'm hoping we'll get it soon! I've read somewhere else that FHM 2 would be coming sometime in June or July if I'm not mistaken... Before the NHL playoffs or during the playoffs would be a nice time for the update? Or even when the stanley cup is presented? I think we've been waiting 2 years now for the patch? Sure feels like it. Any info would be appreciated... Even if it's a standard "We're working on it response".

Yeah, and this is why I'm going to EHM if they're gonna be like that. This major disrespect for us who've followed this game since the beginning. EHM has their match engine. It's time for FHM to show us a little something don't you think?

Even though the patch is being worked on for FHM1 concurrently, once you get more of a glimpse of what's to come in FHM2, most will forget all about the patch!
