Limit injury duration

I'd like a middle ground on injuries. I like having them for the realism they add to the game, but i also don't want the league to be without many of it's best players for all/most of the year.

On the old LaRussa game I could limit injury time. I liked a 30-day max. It hurt your team and tested depth, but it didn't doom your league to forget about certain players all year.

Seems like it wouldn't be too tough to add that option in league setup.

You can edit the injury file to not have injuries any longer than whatever # of days you desire.

Is it right under my nose and I just missed it or could it be in an area where a neophyte might miss it in league setup..

I really thought I looked hard.

And thanks for the help.

It's not accessible via the in-game setup, you have to modify the game files directly in order to do that.

This thread proposed a few alternate ideas on how to improve injuries, possibly more in line with what you were wanting.

I too would love it if the game offered the option to set a max on injury length. Editing the injury file is something I wouldn't want to do, as I often play more than one league. If I'm using full minors, I like the injury settings just the way they are. If playing historical or random debut, I would like to have the number of injuries the normal setting provides, just less season ending/multi month injuries. Most the time now, I simply use the low setting when playing that type of league and set fatigue to high.

Maybe something like the financial coefficient. An Injury coefficient?

While it would be nice if the game had options, for those who aren't interested in editing their injury files, I'm guessing there are many who have done variations on just what DW has described - and would be willing to share them (A request posted in the mods forum would probably get responses/offers).

I recall that someone made an injury file for old-time historical use that modded the injury descriptions so they are more-era appropriate. So I'm sure there are some out there with injury files that limit SEI's, CEI's, and duration... Mine, for example, does not include CEI's. It's been too long ago so I don't recall how much add'l editing I may have done to reduce SEI's & duration (I just know that I am happy with it). I would certainly be willing to share it.

Could it be as simple as deleting all the injuries in the injury that go longer than I want?

Thanks for all the input all.
