Rain Delays

If you go into a rain delay for say 45 minutes or something, and when play is started again your pitcher is exhausted. Can you bring in a reliever even though he didn't have chance to warm up in the bullpen?

Just turn off the warmup rule. It is pretty lame, TBH.

This The AI doesn't use the warm-up rule, so why should you? It puts you at a major disadvantage, especially in cases of injury and rain delays.

Also, if you warm up a pitcher too many times in one game, his performance and/or stamina might decrease?

No, at least from what I have seen. I regular dry hump MR (Dirk Hayhurst term not mine). I will get a guy up in the 5th then agaion in the 7th then finally bring him in in the 9th. Sometimes i will get him up in the 6th and leave him ready in the pen until the 8th. I like keeping warm up rule on it is an obstacle I know I need to overcome and it helps me prepare my pen when it is raining.

If what you say is true then the warmup rule is not realistic; not reflective of how warming up, or the lack of warming up, affects a pitcher; and serves no purpose in the game.

Your right but it is one way that I handicap my team, especially in my EBL vs MLB league. Would be nice if Markus would fix it for 15 but it has been an issue for years.

Is it really a handicap? Is it verified that bringing in a pitcher "cold" affects his performance? If so, are relievers brought in by the computer entering the game automatically warmed up, or "cold?"

More than confirmed that being cold does affect a P's performance by a bug that was discovered in v13. There is a big thread you could probably find by searching (sorry don't have time to find and link now).

Bug was with warmup on while your pitcher came in warm the AI P's did not resulting in too many walks and the tendency to get shelled early. It was a hard bug to spot and I wish I could remember who reported it but it took a lot of research and time to document the issue and get others to confirm so Markus would look into it and fix it.

I think it was DutchAlexander who put quite a lot of time into this.
