Historical Draft League with a storyline twist - starting in 1995 taking place as result of the player strike in '94-95. 26 teams primarily in the same markets as the real major league teams that existed at the time. The powers that be decide to go all-in and start a new league to lure the players in the MLBPA facing a 1995 season that could have been played with replacement players. So you'll have the same markets you're used to, as similar to the original teams colors / concept as creatively possible - but instead of American League and National League, you have Western Conference and Eastern Conference, each split into 3 divisions.

Each league will have 3 division winners and a wild card like the rule adopted by MLB in 1994 that still exists to this day. Interleague Play would start immediately. League would draft from the players available in 1995 - first two rounds allows you to pick two players from your market, after that it's a full-out serpentine draft!

For instance, the Chicago owner will have to select two players from the Cubs & White Sox rosters as they stood on August 12, 1994. New York from the Yankees and Mets. Boston from the Red Sox. Montreal is the only team that has been contracted and Phoenix is the only market that doesn't really exist in 1995 so Phoenix, as the odd team out will get to pick from the Montreal rosters.

Those two players would get a "ULB Inaugural Clause" 7-year-contract at their existing salary level with a no-trade clause. So unless that player retires or you release them, they will be a member of your ballclub until the end of the 2001 season so select carefully!

Full details including the site will follow shortly!

I am interested in the Minnesota Metro if that team is still available. Any idea for a potential start date?

ULB (United League Baseball) - Home will be the league forums, the league constitution is being finished up as we speak.

Kansas City is now no longer available.

17 teams remain.

Quick clarification: Rosters are as of August 12, 1994 - new league is started in 1995. So if they didn't play in your city in '94 but did in '95, they are not eligible. If they played for your city in '94 but not in '95, they are still eligible - think from the perspective that MLB history stopped on the day of the strike and we're continuing from April 1995 with the new league.

I might be interested in Boston or Colorado.

What are your plans for the DH? Will we have minor league teams, and would we be drafting them as well? Scouts, financials, etc.?

Thanks for the info. Looks like a cool league idea.

are we going to get to see reports before we have to pick? I've got a big decision on A-Rod or Randy Johnson and they depend on potential ratings
