Ben Zobrist
...has been standing behind second base, as a 2B'sman, for the last four games, when right handers are up.
He is directly in line from the Catcher, to Pitcher, to the Center Fielder. He is CONTINUOUSLY bouncing and jumping up and down. The Cardinal's announcers have commented on this, repeatedly. What do you all think? Unethical, illegal? Unsportsmanlike? Should he be yelled at by the umps, or should a Cardinals pitcher stick one in his ribs? |

actually, it could be deemed illegal according to MLB rules.... rule 6.04c:
"No fielder shall take a position in the batter's line of vision, and with deliberate unsportsmanlike intent, act in a manner to distract the batter." (penalty for which is that player gets ejected from the game) of course, making the determination of 'deliberate unsportsmanlike intent' leaves it up to interpretation |
