Have the game run while I'm managing

Would it be possible for the game to run it's course, while I watch, and then slow down when I feel like getting involved in management?

I know i can skip the early innings, but I would still like to see those go by. I'd just like to not have it stop every time something happens.

Then when it's time to warm up a reliever, pinch hit or otherwise slow the game down (be it the second inning or the seventh) I can turn off the running mode.

I don't know if anyone else would like this, but it's an old habit from Earl Weaver and Tony LaRussa days.

You do know that there's an option to not have the game pause after each play?

Dang it. I thought I looked deep enough.

Is it in the actual game, or in league setup?

Thanks for the tip.

On the options Tab, when starting your game. Top right.

That brings up an interesting question....

Can the option of "Pause if runner reaches 2nd base" be added as well?

Maybe a couple options based on when you might want to watch or manage in more detail.

There's an option on game play for "play until runner in scoring position".

True, but its actually "play until runner in scoring position OR end of inning" I was speaking more to the idea of letting a game play out until there was a chance to score - then pause and let me go play by play.

In either case, not a big deal - I play as commissioner in about half my leagues and it would be nice to be able to let part of the game where no much is happening run its course before it pauses.

Well, technically, every time someone comes to bat there's a chance to score. (HR) So not sure how you would program that.

Good point - I guess it could pause after the homerun was hit lol

You have the same game we have. It is at the top when you have teh AI in control of all game actions not when you have control. I do what you are asking often. I will put the game speed on Normal or slow and then go do stuff i come back it is the 4th inning or whatever then i click pause after each play then go back into Options and put myself back in control and take over from there. i have done this probably 75 times the last 2 seasons.
So to set it up to let the AI play for a but before you start a game or while you are playing and want to go do other things. Put the AI MGR ( for the Sox it is Matt Merullo) in charge of everything and I recommend using normal or slow for PBP. then start your game and at the top in Blue's SS unclick pause after each play go run around your block 3 times then came back and click Pause after each play then go to Options and out you back in charge. i let Merullo handle defense positioning always, then go back to game.

And to make a SS prtscn then ctrl-v in any paint program you have or use what i use Gadwin. It is the last download option
Gadwin Systems, Inc. - Software for your business. DiagramStudio - program for create diagrams and flowcharts; GeForms - solution for design and filling forms, hundreds of free business forms.

Use manage attachments in the full replay mode.
