Strategy Question

I am in am online league taking over a small market team with a terrible record but great minor league system (#2 overall). I have a great closer but his stamina is a 7/8. I have changed his position to a SP and then asked my manager for the staff. He put him at #1. My question is, is this going top work? He expects to be a closer and only has two pitches. Could he make the transition? My #1 prospect (#2 overall in the whole league) is a SP and dominated AAA last year. The previous manager brought him up at the end of last year and he didn't do well. Should I just leave him down? Thanks for any thoughts.

Well, first of all, do you have another closer? If you do, try him there at your own risk! First of all, two pitches normally doesn't cut it. Second of all, if he expects to be a closer and you put him at starter, he'll get angry, and won't play as well due to his morale. If you don't have another reasonable closer, don't do it.

As a precaution, send your AAA domination pitcher back to AAA except if you have no other good options.

That's just my opinion, no garuntees.

I do have another closer, Craig Kimbrel, but the game year is 2020 and ha is no longer dominant (has been in minors league the last few years and did well. I got him as a cheap free agent. He had good ratings except for control. I am hoping he can buy me a season out two until we can compete.
