increasing potential

new to the forum. i understand everyone in the game has a potential rating. But i was wondering if the one star potential guys could improve to like a three star rating. My guess is probably not, because i have never seen this happen. Thanks!!!

Well, technically it can change.

Sometimes if you set a player at a different position (ex. 2b instead of ss) the player's overall and potential may increase or decrease. (I've had a 2.5/2.5 3B upgrade to a 4.5/4.5 once I set his position to 2b, where I wanted him)

Also, a 1/5 star prospect may only develop in to a 3/3 star player, thus is potential went down.

One special case was having a 1/3.5 star middle reliever develop into a 4.5-star 200-win starter with 2 CY Awards

It is possible. I got really lucky, as I drafted a SP in the 5th round, usually a throwaway pick. He was a 1* potential, but 2 years later, he became a 5* potential. He ended up in the hall of fame. with about 275 wins and 2 no hitters.
