Established alternate historical league opening (1970)
The United League, a 12-team alternate history league using historical players and converting to X has an opening. The league dates from 2003 and is entering its 20th season with a stable group of active GMs (our last opening was 5 seasons ago) and good parity (5 different World Series winners in last 5 seasons). The league sims every 5 days and each sim covers a half-month. Because we have about half the number of teams as in real life, every team has several star players.
The open team, the Boston Federals, have struggled in recent years but have a good core around which to build, including Orlando Cepeda, Bill Freehan, Rico Petrocelli, and Mike Cuellar. We use arbitration after 5 years, FA after 9, and have a salary cap system. We use AAA farm teams and drop unsigned free agents into a Double-A developmental league. For more information, visit our Rules page. Interested GMs should contact the commissioner at united.league@gmail.com. Thanks, Tim Last edited by TSmith1969; 07-23-2009 at 08:09 PM. |
