a modest proposal
So, I live in Seattle, and things are not so fun here at the moment. Schools closed, everything else is closed, and no “real” baseball on the horizon. And all of that pales in comparison to the human costs we’ll incur in the upcoming months, both in lives and well-being.
I propose that OOTP help to lighten the load a bit. Perhaps, in partnership with MLB, a formal daily simulation of the “official” results of the games that would otherwise be played- which could then be “broadcast” on OOTP Twitch, or (dreaming big) the MLB Network?? Perhaps we would never need to return to the days of real baseball! |

When I was a kid and they went on strike - the local newspapers did fake stories and box scores the whole time. It was amazing and of course spoke to how little we had to fill our time back then.
even if OOTP didn't officially do this, feels like something somebody in the community could pull off rather easily

Very cool idea but honestly I would want all of the ootp staff to focus on responding to and cleaning up the bugs that will need to get ironed out. I like the volunteer idea though.
