OOTP 1. I remember I tried to use the key from OOTP 1 on the second version and Markus Heinsohn himself emailed me about my trouble activating the game. I had to admit my mistake. I dropped out for awhile when the game was owned by Sports Interactive, but picked it up again with OOTP X.

I played one of the older versions when it became free to play, not sure if it was a limited demo or not tbh. In all honesty I was overwhelmed and never really appreciated the full game.

Then I bought the first one that came out when SI published it with OOTP.. 2006 roughly rings a bell.

After that ive had a few versions, normally every other year in fairness. Last one was 2018, so 2020 will be a purchase as I feel the game has evolved more than enough to warrant it.

Im not an annual OOTP player however, by that I mean I get the bug around now, then normally get a 3/4 month rush out of it... maybe a bit more around the playoffs.

This was my story too. Got it from Electronics Boutique. I read about it somewhere after wanting something different from Baseball Mogul. There was always something lacking in that game for me.

Since OOTP2. bought every version since. I love this game. Many many hours on it. Sometimes the wife gives me grief :-) but I just keep going and work to make my universe come alive.

I think it was OOTP 5 or 6. Hard to remember now. It could very well have been 4

Ootp 19. I'm from Poland. Here, no one knows the rules and is not interested in baseball. I bought Football Manager from my childhood. And this type of game. I was looking for other sports games of this kind and came across the ranking in which ootp 19 was in the first place. I started to learn baseball rules and bought ootp. It took me many nights to morning, translating all statistics and game rules. I got to know the history of baseball and players. And if you get to know something and understand it, it's easy to love it.

Found the GAME OF MY DREAMS with Version 3... Season Ticket Baseball... found it at a game store in the mall.

Was an old APBA boarder in the 50s... we played it on rainy days when the playground was too wet to play a game, * "scrub" or * screen ball.

Couldn't believe I wouldn't have to keep a scorecard ever again... manually keep the league standings... and would never, ever again have to compute a batting average... or heaven forbid... compute the toughest stat of all... the infamous Earned Run Average.

***Scrub: a game we would play when we didn't have enough players to field a team... minimum number was three... pitcher, batter and left fielder.

We would take 10 swings and the batter would head to LF, the pitcher to batter and the LF would pitch.

We would gradually add positions as new people would arrive.

*** Screenball: Needed a minimum of four players... preferably six.
You could start with a batter (on the mound, facing the backstop or screen), a pitcher (at home plate) and another fielder (parallel to the pitcher)… with six you could cover the backstop better defensively.

The object of the game was to hit the ball past the defenders... if they caught a grounder cleanly or caught it in the air, it was an out... you got three outs per inning... if they didn't catch it cleanly, it was an error and you got a runner on first... hit it past them on the ground and it was a single... the backstop was three sections... hit the first level in the air past the defenders and it was a double... hit the third level past the defenders and it was a triple... hit the third level and it was home run... hit it over the backstop and it was all three outs.

Yeah, those were the good old days of long ago... they were glorious.

And I will add... Today is also the good old days, too... and glorious... with OOTP20, which finally had good animation that you can watch... it's so good it made my give up my beloved vintage 2D stadiums.

Thank you, Markus and the whole OOTP team.
