OOTP 18 player -> get this message

Are you trying to load a save created by an earlier version of OOTP (17, for instance)?

If so, you have to import it into OOTP 18 from the initial OOTP 18 screen.

EDIT: And if it's from an even earlier version of OOTP than 17, you have to import it into each version in between (using demo versions), save your league, and repeat until you can import it into OOTP 18.

I play OOTP 18 and it just says its a 17 file. But I do not own 17

IF you been playing with older version OOTP then you would need to import the file from that to OOTP 18 at least that was my first thought. DIRK is correct BTW

OOTP18 is the only version i have. NO older verisons

pretty sure at least 1 other person has posted this problem. -- recognized as wrong release year, no other release year used etc.

check tech support, make a post etc... i don't know if it's a good answer, but there is an answer most liekly.

have you tried to simply hit the OK button? Doubt if it'll work, but may be a mistake. i recall seeing that once, but dang it can't remember if it went away with the OK or if i did something else. Not much help, i know. Sorry.

I restarted and then made a backup. somehow my player directory path was messed up. seems to work now! thanks for the tips!

Yeah thought it would. It no longer works for me either. It was just an advanced search of 18 GD, New to the game and help forums with database as the search word.
