I posted this in the online league forum with no luck...

In OOTP6 (the last version I played) the players had the ability to go to the trade screen and "talk to the computer teams". Once they worked out a trade the AI thought was valid they would email me and I would put the trade in.

How can I allow the same type of functionality in OOTP18?

Yes, to my understanding and memory the feature has evolved....you can still work out a trade via submit offer where an 'email' is sent to the opposing GM but in most cases I believe players complete their trades within the trade negotiation window..ie they come to a mutual satisfactory conclusion without having to wait for an offer to be sent and then responded to... as Parker noted the 'shop player around' feature is also part of the evolution

When a non-commish player goes to trade they can't.. Shop a player or initiate a trade.. How can a player do anything with the trade engine? This is a major issue and seems there should be a solution... Anyone?

#1. Make sure you are playing as the GM (with control of trades)...
...you may be playing as Manager only?

Sounds like you are in commish mode and arent acting as a team. If you select a team to act as you should be able to enable trading.

I, as commish, can trade for any team.

When one of my human owners tries they just get "you're not comiish" when they open the trade dialog.

Use Act As. This is what i do as Commish when i want to make a trade for another team. i can also see what the other team wants for a particular player.
BTW Is this an online league? If so only commish can make trades . Trades are discussed on a forum.

Here is the crux of the issue:

The computer teams have wants/needs/AI, if all trades are discussed on a forum how does that allow the computer team's AI to have any say?! I understand human to human trades being discussed on a forum but human to computer trades should be worked out by the AI. I as commish do not want to sit there for hours trying to "work out a trade" between a human and computer team.

Can you have one of your non commish players take a few screenshots from what they are seeing? Or for your current league are you the only one with game files?

When they go to Trade it shows:
"you are not commish" under Initiate Trade and Shop a Player.
