Best Hitter I've Ever Seen in OOTP Modern Era
I’ve never seen anything like this kid in OOTP. He was signed as an International free agent at 17, and went from High-A to the majors (skipping AA and AAA) at 21. He won Rookie of the Year in 2032 with a phenomenal .401 batting average. (The league batting average was .250, and the runner-up hit .333).
In 2033, he had the sophomore slump and “only” hit .375, good enough to win the National League batting crown again and MVP. In 2034, he outdid himself, hitting .405, and winning his second consecutive league MVP title. (The league batting average was .255, and the runner-up hit .357). This is the first time I've seen a player in OOTP hit over .400 in the modern era, and he's done it twice at 24 years old. Last edited by Vegas Vic; 04-08-2020 at 02:25 AM. |

Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen anyone hit .400 in the modern era either. In my current sim I'm in 2039 and the highest batting average I've seen is .391. I've had batters with better overall numbers than your kid (playing in Colorado is a hell of a thing), but in terms of pure batting average I don't think I've seen anyone better.

For every batter that hitting .350+
There is usually a batter hitting sub .200 There are extremes on both sides of the spectrum that annoys me. Hitting auto calc every years helps some. |

Yes, I agree. I've seen the league stats get out of whack in some of my fictional leagues. In this case, I'm using the real world MLB setup, and the league stats are very stable (league batting avg., ERA, etc.). In 2032, he finished 68 points ahead of the runner-up (who was his teammate). |

I'm wondering if the Colorado impact needs to be nerfed a little bit. A lot of these players with crazy stat lines seem to be playing for Colorado.

He is born in America. Only way a player can get into the league then unless the human did a manual creation. I hate all those random creations they are always completely over powered. Ok not always but it happens way to frequently and when it does they are absolute mobsters. I turn all that off. Complete game breaking immersion. |

Colorado's park modifier for AVG was 1.3 in 2019. That's 3X the max park factors you can set in PT...it's a very powerful effect

idk, i feel like auto calc actually makes it worse. I've been resetting the league totals to default in my MLB league and I'm not getting the plethora of 60HR hitters in the mid 2020's anymore

I'm using modern day stats. This guy is the only guy to come close to .400 and he's done it twice.

Good point. Are any of you who are playing with the default 2020 setup noticing the same type of stats with Colorado in the future years? |
