JAYS TAKE THEIR FIRST LOSS
Well it had to end sometime.

Man, these video games are almost realistic! The Blue Jays simulated bullpen did their best impersonation of the real life product in a 6 to 5 loss to Boston.

Today the Blue Jays let the Red Sox have the comeback win.

28,321 fans came out to Rogers Centre (Roof closed) which was a dip in fans from opening day.

Game 5 - March 30 2020

Once through the rotation and the Blue Jays are 3 - 2.

Trent Thornton made his first start and was okay, 5 innings, 5 hits, 3 runs, 4 walks and 6 strikeouts.

Only 18,995 at Rogers Centre. I know it is because of the current state of things, but people in the sim world don’t know how lucky they are to have baseball.

Question Are you manager and simming each game?

Or are you just the GM and watching each game play out?

Game 6 - March 31 2020

I am thinking the sim world Vegas odds are improving by the day for the Jays.

The Jays end the month of March 4-2. Now I’m not getting too excited. I’m thinking the hammer will drop at some point.

Hyun-Jin Ryu made his second start of the season and it went much better than his first. Today Ryu went 6 innings, allowed 6 hits, 2 runs, 3 walks and 5 strikeouts.

"Glad to see the fans get into it," said Guerrero Jr.

Attendance today 21,010 all simulating social distancing.

Game 8 - April 2 2020

The Blue Jays played their first road game in New York.

Chase Anderson had a rough time of it going 5 innings, allowing 3 hits, 3 runs, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts.

There was a fair bit of offense from the Blue Jays. Everyone in the lineup had, at least, one hit.

The Blue Jays (and Yankees) are heading into an off-day tomorrow (the Blue Jays bullpen can use it).

Game 9 - April 4 2020

Yesterday was an off-day in the 2020 season. Funny to have an off-day on a Friday. Today the Blue Jays had game 2 of a 3-game series with the Yankees in New York.

The manager was worried about the series. It's the Blue Jays first series against a really good team after facing the Red Sox and Reds.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr is having a rough start to the season hitting just .273 (O homers in 33 at bats).

** Randal Grichuk and Jonathan Loaisiga were ejected in the 4th inning for igniting a bench-clearing brawl.

The Commissioners office has suspended the players for "inappropriate
and aggressive conduct" at the Rogers Centre.

Game 10 - April 5 2020

Nate Pearson made his first start of the year and was pretty good with 5 innings pitched, 6 hits allowed, 1 run, 2 walks with 8 strikeouts.

It could have been a different outcome for Toronto, had it not been for Reese McGuire. McGuire contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put Toronto up 2 to 0.

"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said McGuire. "I think we're going to keep
proving that."

Tomorrow the Blue Jays start a 2-game series against the Phillies in the City of Brotherly Love.

Hyun-Jin Ryu made his third start of the season. He went 6 innings, allowed 6 hits, 3 runs, 1 walk and 5 strikeouts.

Ryu told the Toronto Star that he was "satisfied" with the win.

On the offense side the Blue Jays didn't do much, but it was enough.

The Blue Jays offense didn't do much against Wheeler.

Game 13 - April 9 2020

The Blue Jays have lost 2 of the last 3 games and I'm worried that the early season hot streak has ended. The Blue Jays are still 7 and 6 (1.5 games behind Boston).

Chase Anderson couldn't get out of the second inning.
He ended up with 2 innings pitched, allowing 5 hits, 7 runs, with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts.

There were only 19,780 sim Blue Jay fans at the Rogers Centre. People are missing out on some good ball, of course the dome roof was closed.

After the game the Jays sent Sam Gaviglio down to Buffalo
and brought up Trent Thornton.

Game 15 - April 11 2020

Toronto second baseman Joe Panik contributed to his team's win over Kansas City.
"Enjoyed this one," Panik told the Toronto Star. "But it's back to work tomorrow."

In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, Vladimir Guerrero Jr stroked a grand slam.

Matt Shoemaker started and was kind of okay. He pitched 6 innings, allowing 8 hits, 3 runs, 1 walk and 6 strikeouts.

After the game Thornton was send down to Buffalo and Sam Gavilio comes back up (yeah OOTP doesn’t do the 10 day rule. They could fix that).

Tomorrow Nate Pearson (1-0) makes his second start.

Game 17 - April 13 2020

Jays beat the Twins.

The worrying moment of the game was when Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
came out of the game with an injury. Fortunately, after the game the team announced it wasn’t serious and that he should be back in the lineup
tomorrow.

Doing his part was center fielder Teoscar Hernandez who went 3 for 3 with a home run and a double. Hernandez attributed the win to "a well-
rounded effort by the whole team."

The Blue Jays got another good start from Ryu. He went 6 innings, allowed just 6 hits, 2 runs, 1 walk with 7 strikeouts.,
