Schedule Request

2 SL 28 teams
SL1 5/4/5
SL 2 4/5/5

I would LOVE to get one interleague series (3 or 4 games, whichever is easier) right after the all-star break.

162 games

Totally fine (would prefer) 2-3 and 4 game series, a variety would be great. But again, I understand the added complexity and this being a deal breaker.

I understand if this one is too hard, but appreciate anyone looking into it nonetheless.

Just clarifying, do you want a regular MLB-ish amount of interleague, or did you want just the one interleague series per team that you mention? Can do either way.

If it's a normal amount of IL, then here's a scheme that I'm looking at:

5-team divisions:
- 21 games vs. division opponents
- 6 or 7 games vs. league opponents
- 20 interleague games

4-team divisions:
- 26 games vs. division opponents
- 6 or 7 games vs. league opponents
- 20 interleague games

Interleague would probably be a mix of teams from different divisions, that way it would naturally rotate through different matchups from year to year.

I was hoping to get just one post all star break 3 or 4 game series between rivals or whatever. NP if that complicates it too much, no need to include.

Ignoring the interleague, there's 14 teams playing 158-159 games in 51 series. This means 3-series matchups outside the division are probably the best option, to avoid overloading the schedule with division games.

5-team divisions
- 6 series vs. each of 4 division opponents (24 total)
- 3 series vs. each of 9 non-division opponents (27 total)
- 1 interleague series

4-team divisions
- 7 series vs. each of 3 division opponents (21 total)
- 3 series vs. each of 10 non-division opponents (30 total)
- 1 interleague series

And I expect it will be 30 to 32 teams at some point in the next 10 league seasons

I think there may have been some wires crossed between myself and Ruwisc.

I'm working on a different schedule at the moment, so I have no time for this one.

Ah yep, I had assumed bwburke was doing it. I'll try to whip this together - I like the scheme that he proposed so I'll go with that.

Schedule for 28 teams, 162 games
2 subleagues, divisions 5-4-5/4-5-5
YES interleague, NO balanced games
----------
5-team divisions:
19 games vs. division opponents (9-10H/9-10A; 76 games total)
9-10 games vs. league opponents (3-6H/3-6A; 83 games total)
3 games vs. 1 interleague opponent (3H or 3A)

4-team divisions:
21-22 games vs. division opponents (9-13H/9-13A; 65 games total)
9-10 games vs. league opponents (3-6H/3-6A; 94 games total)
3 games vs. 1 interleague opponent (3H or 3A)
----------
1 interleague series is scheduled per team, directly after the ASB in July; where possible, teams play an opponent from the corresponding division, but because of the mismatched division sizes it's not possible for every team to
----------
Season begins on a Friday in late March or early April; ends on a Sunday in late Sept./early Oct.
Season is 1 day shorter than current usual MLB schedule (which starts on a Thursday)
All-Star Game scheduled for the normal point in early/mid-July
----------
Weekday games begin at 7:10 PM, Sunday games at 1:10 PM, and Saturdays a mix between the two
Didn't pay too much attention to homestands or roadtrip lengths, but I think they max out at 13 games in length

Oh, and forks up! I meant to comment on the ASU logo in your sig. That's my alma mater, yours too? The maroon and gold of my avatar are meant as ASU colors

Ok I figured it out, almost. I had BG and IL set wrong, but I amended that. Then I got the tag line error 2274 BUT the schedule loaded...

Ok your schedule is awesome! One question, does it rotate the interleague series? No worries if not but was curious if the same teams play the same teams every year.

The game rotates teams through the different team ID numbers for their division when you get to a new year, so some of the matchups might stay the same but most will probably change. But if your divisions are East/Central/West, you'll always have East vs. East x4, Central vs. Central x4, West vs. West x5 and East vs. Central x1 to account for the mismatched divisions.

I'm not sure if there's a way to control the rotation in a way that makes the teams always have the same interleague opponent but I don't think that's possible

I prefer random IL play. However, I have an issue now
My league expanded by 2 teams this winter.
NOW???
I am looking at SL1 D4 T4 T4 T4 T4 and SL2 D3 T4 T5 T5

I was SURE with the volume of schedules it would be easy to find one, I was wrong.

I have the matchups determined for this. Random interleague actually makes it a little bit easier to do that.

But that is sort of like having bought the jigsaw puzzle - it still has to be put together. I am hoping to be able to finish the build perhaps this weekend.

Thanks GMO - just coming back to this thread & I don't think I would've been able to do the other schedule in the next few days. How is it that I'm so busy when we're stuck inside?!
