OOTP 6.

It's been a long and winding road. Ups and downs but the vast majority being ups. I would do it all again in a heartbeat.

Whichever version was marketed as Season Ticket Baseball.

I think 3 but it may have been 2. Been playing every year since and got to be a beta tester for 2007.

Antiques Roadshow: OOTP Edition

I'll admit to being something of an OOTP pack rat. I still have folders for every single version of OOTP I've ever purchased dating back to 2002, each one jammed packed with image files, logos, miscellaneous mods, and even OOTP exe files.

This one, for example, is the original OOTP4 exe file that I downloaded shortly after purchasing this game for the very first time back in '02. For some reason, it was in the same sub-folder that contained Killebrew's (whatever happened to that guy?) great fictional player photo mod, which was comprised of 2000 images of college players from back in 2002. In the years before Facegen, that was the mod I used most frequently.

LOL...13.2 MB. However, just an FYI for you whippersnappers out there, trying to download a 13.2 MB file back in the day using dial-up or subsonic DSL was a daunting, often frustrating task, especially if the connection was lost and you had to start all over again.

I had Baseball Mogul back in 98 I think when it first launched for about 4 years until around 2002. I remember it getting a lot of hype when it first came onto the scene with xbox and ps2 action baseball games trying to license the engine.

i know 2002 was my last cause its on my amazon history list as a download lol

then didn't touch another baseball game of any kind until 2018 with ootp 18 then 19 and awaiting 20

OOTP5. In those days I was still playing a lot of Diamond Mind Baseball and I split time between the two for a long time. I'm very grateful for what OOTP has done for this hobby that I've enjoyed for over 40 years.

2006. Learned about baseball sims late in life - Matrix used to publish one called Pursim that I liked a lot, went from there to here (and Football Manger as well).

I think it was Season Ticket (OOTP 3), but it's possible I played it before that version.

My major influences for baseball gaming:
Baseball! (Odyssey2)
Micro League Baseball (C64)
Star League Baseball (C64)
Baseball Stars (NES)
Baseball Simulator 1.000 (NES)
Strat-O-Matic (tabletop)
Pursue The Pennant (tabletop)
APBA (PC DOS)
Pursue The Pennant/Diamond Mind (PC DOS)
Front Page Sports Baseball (PC DOS)
Baseball Mogul (PC Win)
OOTP (PC Win)

The biggest thing you might notice is missing is Earl Weaver Baseball. However, there is a good reason for that. It was much harder to buy games back in the 1980s. I literally never saw Earl Weaver Baseball in a store to purchase. And mail order doesn't work well when you're a kid with no credit card or checking account.

I was a year purchaser from OOTP4 through OOTP12, then OOTP15 through OOTP17 and now OOTP20.

Originally played APBA Computer Baseball but moved over because I really loved having a AI GM/Manager so I didn't need to play out all the games.
