I appreciate the quick reply. Frankly, I thought FHM1 was the poorest product that OOTP has ever put on the market.

I don't know, that OOTP 2008 was pretty bad. (I think that's the year)

Fortunately I still had 6.51 to play

Agreed. That version of OOTP was astoundingly awful.I think that was the first one after the SI split.

Only for about a year or so, IIRC. It didn't work out.

That's an understatement.. It led to OOTP 6.5 (I believe)

I have nothing but the highest regard for OOTP. The continuing quest for improvements in all games and the collective efforts in research and development
remain unsurpassed. Nevertheless, I think those of us who purchased FHM 1 are getting a lousy deal. FHM 1 should never have been released.

No, 6.5 was an excellent release. Was used successfully for years for online leagues. It was the 2008 version that was SI related.

Yeah, 6.5 was a great game. Then the SI debacle happened. Ugh.

Detractors of FHM2014 would do well to remember that dumpster fire. Sorry, Markus, just being honest

Sounds about right. I can't remember the exact timeline.

Dumpster fire is a very accurate description. I cringe just thinking back on it.

I put it down as an investment in a hockey sim by a company known for its excellence. Was the first one disappointing? Definitely. But I knew going in that it would take several iterations before it approached the sophistication and complexity that I'd come to enjoy from OOTP.

I have every confidence in Markus and company that FHM will be a very successful franchise, and I don't mind a few stumbles along the way.

So with this game you can have a fantasy world with fantasy teams is that correct? Also where do the players come from for these teams? Are they randomly generated or do they take after real NHL'er just with different names?

Ahh Okay.. For some reason, I thought 6.5 was released in RESPONSE to the SI debacle. I agree, it was a great version. Whichever it was, they went back to the previous version and gave it an overhaul IIRC..

Yes, you can definitely have fantasy or fictional leagues. I believe the players are randomly generated, but I'm not completely sure.

I'm hoping they are randomly generated players. Maybe someone with some inside knowledge of the game can shed some light.
