That was a funny name. I think I actually saw him race once at the Minnesota State Fair, but I could be wrong. It didn't end well for him though. He had some serious pain issues......

"Trickle died May 16, 2013, from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.[30] The incident occurred at 12:02 pm at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Boger City, North Carolina. The Lincoln County Communications Center received a call, apparently from the victim, saying that "there's going to be a dead body. Suicide." When the 911 operator asked who was about to commit suicide, Trickle responded: "I'm the one.""

You very well could have seen him. In my brief research he was something of a legend in the upper Midwest. He raced all over his native Wisconsin as well as Minnesota and Michigan.

I also felt for him, he had a pretty rough life. He grew up dirt poor, fell and broke his hip at age 8 and it took over 3 years to heal. Doctors gave up on him and he limped the rest of his life.
He would run over 100 races a year and he did this for almost four decades.
He also had a nephew who was killed in a unsolved drive by shooting murder.

Then as you mentioned he committed suicide in 2013. Very sad all the way around.
