Real rookies / random debut question

So I wanted to start a parallel world where we started in a fresh 2024 league similar to MLB in every way but it was new and random rookies from all eras would come in. Started with fictional players.

Now I had the first player draft. Babe Ruth was 42/54/50 or something. I use only potentials 20-80, yes scouts. Hell, Dizzy Dean looked like he'd be lucky to be a spot starter.

Is the random also applied to stats? I want the 'what ifs' but not what ifs as big as, what if Babe never made it to the majors lol.

Does someone know where I may have misstepped?

I assume this is your annual rookie draft. Are you playing with minors off? I always play with minors off. How many rounds is your rookie draft? I use 8 rounds. 7-9 rounds is pretty common. Also your settings for RAH, injuries, players retire according to history, fatigue, etc. will also impact how many rounds you need.
Stats is not random. If you want stats from a particular year (I use 1984 since those stats are close to average from 1901-2023) go into stats & AI tab day before opening day or on opening day prior to any game being played) and do auto calc using 1984 or any year you choose. Otherwise the game will use the historical year which is on the left side of the stats & AI page to determine modifiers.

Yes, this was my annual rookie draft. I have minors on, with the league looking like the 2024 MLB in most ways. The draft was 25 rounds but mostly cause I forgot to edit it. I plan to do 9 in the future. I didn't know that about 1984 but that's great news, def will use going forward.

Dunno what RAH is.

Injuries & fatigue on default. Most is pretty default. Negative on retire according to history, using the ootp dev engine. Will also head over to the historic thread, someone prob knows the league I want to setup and can help.
