My draft pick retired after one year in the minors?

I drafted him in the second round and he spent the year playing in A and AA. He promptly retired from baseball when the season was over. No reason was given and he wasn't injured.
Is that a thing?

i don't know about real life, but i suppose it can happen: change of sports, religious missions, some sort of disease or the like. But yeah, it's a bummer when you don't even get an explanation.,. i've seen it about 3 times in the 5+ years i've been playing. 'tis a big bummer for certain. One of my guys was a 5 star prospect !!!

Definitely a bummer.
I guess I'll just pretend he got mixed up with the wrong people at the ballpark and joined a cult lol

Or you could turn off storylines if you don't want to deal with this stuff. Volunteers put a lot of effort into the storylines every year, but I think you can recognize that effort without necessarily using them in your game.

I am not sure storylines are the culprit here.

They're the most likely culprit.

Yes, with storylines off it doesn't happen.

Never, good sir. Unless by injury, but that is a different matter.

That is a different matter. So it is a storyline issue with no attached storyline?

Hmmm...I wonder if the news feed pays any attention to players in the minor leagues, or if its sole focus is big leaguers.

the players i've had retire without explanation were all minor leaguers. it wasn't a deal breaker ... just seemed a bit strange no explanation was given for his mind change.

That must be it then. Minor leagues are not newsworthy I guess. Kind of makes sense when you consider how unwieldy things could get if they were included in the news feed.

So are minor leaguers included in the player searches for Storylines?
