Recommendation for Arbitration with big jump in salary

I have two players (each with 3 MLB years) who will be uo for arbitration at the end of this season and who are asking for a big jump in salary. Player A's currect salary is 505K; he's asking for 1yr contract for 6M (arbitration estimate 5.9M). Player B is similar - currect salary 480K; asking for 1 yr deal for 9M (arbitration estimate 8.6M). All my other players due for Arbitration are asking for extensions a lot closer to their current salaries. Consequently, their arbitration estimates are a lot closer to their current salaries. So, what should I do with these two guys if I'm trying to give them an extension for a lot cheaper than their arbitration estimate?

let them hit arbitration.

Wait until they have 5 years of service, then offer them a 3 year contract for whatever they are asking for (usually 12.5M or less...never any more). That is the best way to handle those guys.

If you need cap space, work out trades for younger prospects, it's better for the longevity of your franchise anyway.

Thanks.

About offering extensions ...

Why is there a difference in money for extensions between the Forn Office page and the Offer Contract pages. For example, I now have 12.2M for extensions on my Front Office page (btw this keeps changing a bit - I guess as estimates change as performances are re-evaluated after games are played). Player A's arbitration estimate is 6M. If I set up an extension for 1yr 7M it says I have 17.8M for extensions and the owner oks the deal. For Player B (with a 8.6M estimate), I set up a 1yr 9M extension and it says I have 20.8M for extensions. For Player C who has a 12M estimae, if I set up an extension for 4yrs at 12.5M per year, it says I have 24.2M for extensions left and the owner oks the deal. What's going on here?

It seems that if I offer a player an extension, my "$ for extensions" should get adjusted by the difference between the arbitration estimate and the agreed upon salary for the next year. So for Player A, my "$ for extension" should be less 1M. The difference between estimate and contract is -1M (estimated 6M, signed for 7M, so my "$ for extension" after signing should be 12.2M - 1M = 11.2M. Correct?

I believe the estimation you see when you offer a player a contract doesn't take into account his estimated arbitration.
