The St Louis Cardinals are trying to distance themselves from the rest in the National League. Cleveland is trying to stay in the hunt in the American League. Joe DiMaggio (Chicago Cubs) is hitting .430. Johnny Mize (Philadelphia Athletics) is leading the Home Run race with 13. Standings Batting Stats Pitching Stats Washington Senators Report Record 29-14: 1st Place Lefty Grove (6-0, 3.18 in May) and Hank Greenberg (.345, 9 HR, 37 RBIs) are named Pitcher and Batter of the Month. 20-11 during the month help us to stay on the top of the American League. July 1st 1938 Update
Another month in the books brings not one but, two No Hitters. The Washington Senators were on both ends of those. Both St Louis And Washington see their respective leads increase. Joe DiMaggio still is the top hitter with his .414 batting average. The top player in Home Runs is White Sox Hal Trosky with 21. Standings Batting Stats Pitching Stats Washington Senators Report Record 45-25: 1st Place 16-11 in June Joe Medwick and Bob Feller are named Batter and Pitchers of the Month. Bob Feller pitches Washingtonian's 5th No Hitter and 2nd of his career.

August 1st 1938 Update
Nothing has changed much since the beginning of the month. The Cardinals briefly took a dive to 3rd Place, but came back. Washington has held on to the top spot on the American League. The Top 6 Home Run hitter have very productive, each has on occasion hit 2 in a single game. Cubs' Joe DiMaggio is trying to be the first person to hit over .400 for the season since Ernie Lombardi hit .410 in 1936. Standings Batting Stats Pitching Stats Washington Senators Report Record 59-38: 1st place 14-13 for July A 5 game losing streak did nothing to dent the lead over Boston. Bob Feller is once again named Pitcher of the Month (4-1, 2.48, 46 Ks)

September 1st 1938 Update
The usual two teams lead the Leagues. Tigers' Chester Wieczorek hit 3 HRs in a single game. The Athletics win 10 in a row. Standings Batting Stats Pitching Stats Washington Senators Report Record 75-49: 1st Place 16-11 in August Bob Feller is a three-peat for Pitcher of the Month (7-0, 2.78 era). Philadelphia gave us a scare as they won 10 straight games top come with a half game.

Final 1938 Standings
The Washington Senators will meet the St Louis Cardinals. This will be repeat of the 1936 World Series. St Louis is hoping for revenge, while Washington is looking for 16th Championship.

Another month is in the books, with some excitement to go along. The Detroit Tigers won 10 straight games to claim first place in the American League, then went south with 7 of 9 lost. Philadelphia came storming to the top with a 17-12 month of May. The Browns were the top team in June to claim the second place spot. Over in the National League, another Philadelphia team is on top with a slight lead over the New York Giants. Both were chasing each other. Surprises were in store for the month of June. The Washington Senators were hot all month long. On the other side of the diamond, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh were exchanging barbs while the Giants went down for the count. Cubs' Joe DiMaggio is on a quest to be .400 hitter at the end of the season. The second half of the season is coming up.
