possible to resurrect a save after Catalina?

So I only recently upgraded to Mac Catalina since I need it starting this semester. I had a save file of at least 1,600 hours on OOTP18 (actually started on 15 so its probably more hours than that). I'm locked out of OOTP18 cause of Catalina. I'm going to get OOTP21 to continue in another save file I am planning, which I was going to do anyway since the park builder seems interesting. I know its possible to import save files from 1 version to the next (I did so from 15-18). I am assuming I cant do so from 18 straight into 21. But since I cant get into 18 anymore, and I dont see any options to see all the files inside of 18, is my 1,600+ save file essentially gone? I'd would really hate to lose all of it just because I had to update my computer for 1 extracurricular class.
