Trade help?
So I'm making a big trade, and I'm giving up one of my SPs to help seal the deal. It's between Michael Wacha and this other guy named Brett Marshall. Which one should I keep?

I'm worried about if Marshall's WAR will get higher, if I extrapolate his first 17 starts to 34, then he has about 3.6 WAR, but then again, he's going to improve, so I think he'll get better.
Wacha's WAR is nice, control is pretty great, but his stuff and movement is just slightly above average. I'm not going to use only WAR to decide... Last edited by Tyler87898; 08-14-2013 at 12:39 PM. |

this is an easy one...trade Marshall. Wacha's control is great, he's younger and has a higher ceiling.
Remember Gregg Maddux didn't have elite "stuff", but his control and movement were unchallenged. I personally will choose control over stuff all day.

It does suck to lose behind a bunch of bases on balls.

I'll post tomorrow (goin' to bed). I can tell you that I got 2 stud prospects (#1 prospect and #46) who looks like they will be big stars. The #46 spec is a LF/RF that is ready for the bigs and the #1 is a very great looking catcher (at least in my MLB). But I also had to give up some more very nice players to get them.

Who I received (ratings out of 100):
RF Danry Vasquez, former #46 prospect (not a rookie anymore, played half a season in MLB). My scout says his potential ratings are: contact - 85, power - 78, eye - 70 with above average defense at LF and RF with good avoid K potential (67) and 50 speed. C Clint Coulter, #1 prospect, currently in AAA, potential 77 contact, 85 power, 73 eye. Good avoid K (66). I will say that besides Marshall, I had to give up a potential 4th outfield Austin Dean (may have eventually won a starting job but doubt it), a very good CF prospect David Dahl (a top spec) and some crappy outfielder and SP. I feel like a payed a hefty price, but I feel that Vasquez and Coulter will help me more in the long run. |
