Online League Numbers low?!?
I have been playing ootp since ootp5.. I remember years ago online leagues were a dime a dozen.. Easily found and active.. I have noticed over the past few ootp versions / years.. This isnt the case anymore. Im sure there is enough player base to fill leagues but it seems the online side of ootp is falling rather quickly.
The leagues I have been in have folded rather quickly except one I am currently in from the days of ootp5. I do like a specific type of rating league and or no ratings at all.. If anyone has leagues that have a rich history with no sign of slowing down.. I am in the market to join another online league.. Just sorta tired of investing time in a new formed or lack of history league just to see it fold up and never see how the careers of my player would have turned out.

Check out the World Baseball Federation!
We are midway through our 2nd year so perhaps it's not the length of history you prefer, but trust me, we aren't going anywhere. We have a number of open teams right now. World Baseball Federation Email wbfcommish@gmail.com if you are interested in our unique league setup! |

The Paramount Baseball League (PBL) is just starting Free agency (tonight). The in-game date is December 4, 2025 and we been doing it over 3+ years in real time with no signs of slowing down.
Very active league, still have over 10 original GMs and another 6-7 guys who been involved since Year 2 and 3. Its an amazing core and we are looking to fill 3 openings. Shoot me an email at derek.bobola@gmail.com if your interested. We would love to have someone like you be a part of this great tradition!

To respond to your original thought about online leagues slowing down, I noticed the same thing as well and I contribute that to poor commitment by wanna be Commissioners. I don't think people realize the amount of time and dedication goes into running a league and needing to satisfy 30 owners, etc.
So many people start leagues with huge promises and ideas only to fizzle in a week or two. You can also see the impact of it when people join leagues and are hesitant to take time and analyze their teams. Some just dump every prospect for aging veterans while others dump every veterans for prospects before they play a single game and see what the best possible direction is for that specific team.
