The WWBL makes switch to OOTP 11
Hello everyone. The WWBL has made the move to OOTP 11 and we currently have serveral open teams. We have been slow to upgrade over the last few versions and as a result we have been unable to fill openings as we were behind the current version. we have several open teams which prompted us to make the move to 11.
We have been around since real life year 2004. In game we started in year 1984 and are now in the 2021 season. We are a 24 team fictional league. We are very laid back with the only requirements being that you export at least once a week and respond to league emails and trade requests. Below you will find a list of the open teams. If your interested email me and let me know which team you would like. OOTP 11 is required to play. It's a great time to join as we are just beginning spring training here are the openings: New Mexico San Jose SPOKANE opened back up Please let me know if you would like a team or if you have any questions

This league has some great managers, but we need more to inject some new life.

Fun league with winterball for AAA and a winter rookie league as well.
Also a very unique and cool name.txt file that adds a little to the immersion of the league, imho. My team sucks, but I have a bunch of prospects that may be ready. We also have our own Bill James type who breaks down stats as well as anyone. Come check us out.

We're at the end of May. Of the remaining open teams New Mexico and Spokane are leading their divisions and San Jose is just half a game out.
Spokane is one of the best teams in the league. They have some weakness, but they also have great pitching, some good bats and some excess talent to trade to fill the few holes. They're currently leading the best overall division in the league by a game. And they also have one of the best financial situations in the league right now, with the second lowest payroll and a $35M budget surplus. New Mexico is a solid team with a woeful defense. They really have the least talent of any team in their division, but Montana is still hording prospects and Baton Rouge and Oklahoma City have started slowly, leaving New Mexico to lead the division playing sub-.500 ball (25-27). This team is also in good shape financially, with the 4th lowest payroll and a $22M surplus. San Jose is an indifferent team off to a hot start. They're apt to fade, but for now they're leading the Wild Card race by 3-1/2. So an aggressive manager picking up some help mid-season could get them into the play-offs. They're running a deficit, which could make it harder to improve, but they're also playing a bad player in LF, so there's a quick and easy upgrade to be had right away. Little Rock has pitchers, a couple of bats and a couple of top hitting prospects. They're running a big budget deficit this year, but some hefty salaries will be coming off the books in the off-season. Daytona has some quality players on both side of the ball, but is thin and fraying without leadership. They haven't won fewer than 79 games in 7 years, but they're off to an 18-30 start this season. Phenix City has some bats, but needs the pitching rebuilt. |

So on 2nd thought, I think this team could easily be turned into the favorite to win the Wild Card (it's very unlikely San Jose can beat Monterey for the division title, despite being only half a game out, but stranger things have happened). Right now I have Tennessee or Ithaca taking the Wild Card, but I think San Jose can take it if they remove the festering sore that is Jake Powers (-2.6 VORP, -9.8 ZR so far) in LF. |

I am interested in becoming the new GM for the Daytona Racers and would appreciate the opportunity to return them to their winning ways.

The three remaining teams (assuming Daytona is filled) are all in the play-off picture for 2021.
Spokane remains 4 games up in their division and 5 in the Wild Card. San Jose is still holding a 2 game lead in the PL Wild Card. New Mexico remains just 1.5 games out in the PL Central despite playing a guy who is hitting .166 with a 459 OPS and -34.5 VORP at 1B. This team could be improved significantly simply by playing their glove specialist Tomas Cardenas at SS, bumping Luis Diaz to 1B (Diaz has a -15.4 ZR at SS) and kicking Bochi to the curb. |
