Why Is Danny Tartabull Rated So High @ 2B?
Cloned Tartabull, deleted the original. Neutralized stats, development on.
He only played 32 games @ 2B IRL. Rockers have Bobby Rayburn = Ryen Sandberg at DH.

Tartabull came up as a superutility player. His range factors in the middle infield were good. That error rating is way too high, though. He committed an error at 2B and SS about once every three games. Maybe the development engine just treated him well.

He played a handful of games (32, to be exact) at second base early in his career in real life, so he likely imported with a second base rating. The AI was probably forced to use him at second for some reason and the development engine took over from there.

In a related story, anybody else remember when Kevin Mitchell was a 3B/SS?
I remember when he was with the Reds late in his career, my dad and I went to a game against the Giants. John Burkett had a perfect game through 7 innings, Kevin Mitchell broke it up in the bottom of the 8th by beating out an infield hit.

Danny was Ben Zobrist before Ben Zobrist, at least in the minors. If you check out his minor league positions, 2B, SS, and 3B are listed among his chances. But, back in the day, most 2B did not hit for power and it was so much easier to move a power hitter to the outfield. And to keep him at 3B was out of the question because the Mariners thought they had something in Jim Presley. With 1986 being his big year.
