Hillsboro Hops, here are some half season stats for our new DH players:

91 Willie McCovey: 65 Games, 17HR, 11x2Bs, .245 AVG, .318 OBP, .816 OPS, .9 WAR

92 Jimmie Foxx: 64 Games, 12HR, 6x2Bs, .228 AVG, .307 OBP, .708 OPS, -.1 WAR

Jimmie seems to be way behind expectations and Willie is ahead in my expectations for his HR total.

I would be surprised if Jimmie is not going to have a much better second half...good luck.

Are we having fun yet? It seems like we have a very competitive league from top to bottom. Good luck everybody for the second half of the season.

NC Central and NC West have their division winners, but the NC East will be fun to watch down the stretch. The NC wildcard race is shaping up to be pretty tight, 5 teams fighting for those 2 spots. There will be some good teams left out, hopefully not the Burgers tho.

Looks like the American league is starting to determine their teams too....

AC East Fargo Sun Dogs, the top PT universe team, will be the team to beat.

I would be surprised if the Gauchos don't lock up the AC Central with their great roster (100 Martinez, Bonds, …) in the next 24 hrs.

Good luck Burgers....always sad when you have a slow weekend and no PT team to watch in the playoffs.

Wish we had a NCAA march madness-type tournament for all the teams that did not qualify for the playoffs so there is something else to follow on Sunday.

Weeeee

Honestly, I was seriously considering making a post thanking people for not reporting my team for tanking.

Getting pretty tight for the NC wildcard! Yaks, Butts, Burgers, Stripers and Knights all shooting for 2 wildcards. All teams are within 7.5 games of each other now.

Either Yaks or Butts will win their division, with the non-division winner most likely taking the top wildcard spot.

And after a terrible 10-17 April where I figured it was going to be a long season, my Hops have climbed into a tie for the last AC wildcard spot. Going to be a fun Saturday race.

Big thanks to my new SP, Van Mungo. He's working on back-to-back shutouts (including a "Maddux"). He's only had 1 bad inning in his 4 starts, which began with an error and ended 6 runs later with a 3-run Trout bomb. He's only given up 3 runs in his other 30 innings.

Oh damn, I changed up my stadium at the beginning of the season and it looks like I nailed it. Unfortunately, I'm not good on the road.

I was just looking at the Fargo Sun Dogs roster and it's insane. Craziest of all, Perfect Doc Gooden is on the reserves. It looks like a in-game month ago he got kicked off the team for his 3.91 ERA.

Hopefully someone can take him down. I certainly don't think I can.

Dude went 25-4 for the month of August, and has 1 losing record against another team and that's just 1-2 vs the Hartford Whale. His perfect Pedro is 22-1 with 1.77 ERA, .88 WHIP, 2.02 FIP, 9.5 WAR. You may need 3 or 4 hot starters to beat him but it can be done yep.

The Burgers are barely holding on to the final NC wildcard spot by 1 game over the surging Stripers. Have 5 more games vs the Stripers and they've crushed the Burgers this year winning 12 out of 14 games, I doubt we're gonna be able to hold on to that final spot.

My pitching staff has a chance to beat him if we both make it to the WS. I would love to try.

Wow real close races going into the last month.

I'll be surprised if anyone takes down the sun dogs.

The 2 perfect Pedro's over in the AC are just lights out. I'm so jelly

What a weird season this has been for the Mustangs.

Through 29 June, we were 20-60 (.250 pct). Since that time, we are 35-27 (.564 pct), including a stretch where we went 21-9 (.700 pct) from 30 June through 4 August. Since then, we've been playing close to .500 ball.

The only change was the addition of Cy Blanton (94 OVR) who replaced Kyle Freeland (79 OVR) in the rotation. However, I believe it is our improved hitting that has really driven this turn around.

The most amazing thing to me is that even when I was winning at the .250 pct clip, I was still earning a lot more points than I did in 2019 (finished 69-93 in the initial Bronze league) or in 2024 (71-91 in my first Diamond League). Nobody likes to lose, but it is a lot easier to live that way when your point earning potential doesn't completely bottom out like it did either of those 2 years.

My team may still be terrible, but I actually have hope that improvement (or more specifically, getting points from achievements) is possible without relegation. This fact has made my initial Perfect league experience rather pleasant overall.

Oh man, the joys of Perfect, where I need to make my team better but my 21K in PP isn't enough to make any improvements. I might have to pre-sell the next player I'm dropping and then hope the PP I get from that give me enough for his upgrade, but the guys I'm mostly looking for are in the 50K+ range.
