Professional Replay Baseball League 1948 Hall of Fame Ballot
Ethan is lazy so I am taking over the Hall of Fame ballot duties this season. This is going to be a HUGE ballot so I'm just going to list the player, their position, their ERA+/OPS+, and their best accomplishment (IMO). You can look up anything else you want by clicking on their player page. Those who do not receive 5% of the vote will drop to the Veterans Committee. If the ERA+ is "???" it means it is not listed in Cato meaning it is 107 or below.
10 vote maximum, anyone can vote. Go to it! HITTERS (Position and Name - OPS+ - Best Accomplishment) Old Ballot OF Eckard Burlingame - 132 - 4 Rings 3B Julius Coltrane - 138 - 2 BOTY OF and P Gene Lassiter - 131 - 336 HR CF Sully McTeague - 138 - Retired 2nd in runs, 3rd in walks OF Whitey Murphy - 136 - .360 BA CF Milton Shifman - 145 - 3 BOTY CF Bowler Channing - 133 - 5 Tool Player C Eddie Deal - 123 - 7 Gold Gloves 3B Dick Deustch - 137 - Only player to win BOTY as a rookie OF Andy Roepe - 123 - 1991 BB New on Ballot OF Daniel Houlihan - 139 - .365 BA, 6 time BOTY, 9 time All Star, 4 Gold Gloves, 3414 hits, 1535 RBI, 1542 runs 1B/OF John Fosdick - 131 – 6 time All Star, 2003 hits, 1152 RBI, 1267 RBI OF Tippy Cavanaugh - 120 – 2462 hits, 1399 runs, 1081 RBI, 1277 BB C Dub Breslin - 107 – 10 Gold Gloves OF Mack Bolan - 157 – 3 time BOTY, 9 time All Star, .327 BA, 1445 runs, 1355 RBI OF Arnold Colfax - 131 – 8 time All Star, 6 Gold Gloves, 3068 hits, 1504 RBI, 1799 runs SS Brian Boru - 113 – 2971 hits, career 2B leader, 1741 RBI, 1779 runs OF Marion Morrison - 135 – 2 time BOTY, 359 HR OF Buster Brubaker - 130 – Died at war, .323 BA, 3196 hits, 1555 runs, 1745 RBI SS Jesse Summers - 106 – 3087 hits, 1543 runs, 1216 RBI OF Michael Bones - 121 - .332 BA, 3529 hits, 1773 runs, 1625 RBI, 2 time BOTY 3B Gil Greatrex - 119 – 2763 hits, 1590 runs, 1508 RBI, 1085 BB OF Cal Dupree - 122 – ROTY and BOTY in same season, .327 BA 1B Dolph Schlitzer - 131 – 3 time WS winner OF Guy Fontana - 122 – Career leader in HR and RBI SS Willie Wozniak - 108 – 1522 BB, 1338 runs 2B Douglas Guthrie - 106 – .401 OBP, 3022 hits, 1712 runs, 583 SB, 1835 BB C Baron von Heidelberg - 101 – 3 time WS winner 3B Dave Brunckhorst - 123 – 1802 runs, 1820 BB, 605 SB 1B Urban Gaylord - 117 – 288 HR, 1290 RBI, 6 Gold Gloves PITCHERS (Name - ERA+ - Best Accomplishment) Old Ballot David Brent - 128 - 1922 WS MVP Randall Flagg - 121 - 300 Wins Tom Paladin - 124 - 320 Wins Brewster Jennings - 108 - Most extreme stats (most games, losses, strikeouts, walks, and home runs allowed all time) New to Ballot J.P. I wouldn't worry about Summers. It's a crowded ballot. Once we get rid of some of the chaff he will be in.

Hard to leave Rondthaler out, being that he's such a great leader.

Guy Fontana
Mack Bolan Dan Houlihan Paul Drumheller JP Herring Ed Schultz That is being VERY picky...but with the way players stick around in this league...you have to be careful who you let in

3B Dick Deustch - 137 - Only player to win BOTY as a rookie
No -- PIT's Cal Dupree did the same in 1927, but people seem to always forget about him doing so. Ed Rondthaler - 114 – 274 wins, great leader + Hard to leave Rondthaler out, being that he's such a great leader. -- I KNOW A FIX WHEN I SEE ONE! My ballot: Quote:

Gotta keep you on your toes.....Fontana's the closest thing that we've had to Ruth (until Grimaldi, of course). IMHO Colfax isn't as much of an icon as Fontana, and I'm voting for icons first. I personally can't believe more people haven't voted for Shifman. He dominated during the deadball era.

I just really dislike Fontana - he was nothing more than Dave Kingman, 50 years earlier. |
