ISO: 91 Cleon Jones

Got up to 10,500 for one for my Mets team. I'm also prepared to save for a little longer if that's not enough.

According to my spreadsheet, that card should be around 10k, so I think you're good (that's pre-collection prices, so if he's in a collection, all bets are off!).

He is in the Amazin' Mets collection, but I'm hoping someone not pursuing that collection will be reasonable. I am also prepared to move on and get several other upgrades I've been looking at, even though I probably don't need them right now. In particular, I'd love to have the 94 Gregg Jefferies. Too bad it's so meh on defense.

iirc that Jefferies card would make a sneaky good 1B defensively. He was on my radar awhile back.

Problem with that is that I have Keith Hernandez at that position, and I don't want to sacrifice his ability there...so if I do end up getting Jefferies at some point, he'd be the DH. Could definitely mash.

Sorry...off topic a bit here from your original request, but that Gregg Jefferies card is quite attractive. It has been listed recently with 13K opening bid and has been going unsold. The reason(s) I haven't moved on it myself are: (1) better against LHP than RHP so most of his offensive firepower would be on the wrong side of the platoon; (2) defensively he's passable at 3B and perhaps decent at 1B but doesn't work so well on a defensive-minded team; (3) batting eye is actually pretty low which negates some of that sweet, sweet contact rating; (4) he hasn't performed that well on the other Perfect level squads I've spied him on.

All that being said, Gregg Jefferies would be almost certainly an upgrade over my Andrelton Simmons card that's been hard to shake from the active roster. Just can't make myself shell out 10K PP+ for a card that I'm not really excited about though.

Bumping this because the search for a Cleon is off for the time being. I moved on and got the 94 Gregg Jefferies. We'll see if he decides he wants to hit.

Just curious, what does ISO mean? Google search brings up ISO standards as I expected, but couldn't find anything related to auctions.

LOL. I actually did the same thing, but found the acronym in the right context. For those of us "olds" that don't really use Craig's list etc, it was a puzzle for sure.
