Opinions?
I run the Down South Baseball League (DSBL) and we are in our 3rd season right now.
I just put in some new rules that will take effect next season and I was wondering if I could get some feedback on the rules, page layout, etc... Look good? Bad? Rules stink? I'm always looking to make things better, that's why I'm asking...

Well, you got pitchers under the batter column, and batters under the pitchers column in the Franchise Players page.
Everything else looks pretty good Nice to see you took the exact words from the FBBL's rules page for the arbitration. |

Damn, I sure do Thanks...
I didn't know that was another league's exact rules...one of my owners made that suggestion to me. I guess that says really good things about the FBBL then...

And you copied the contract extensions rules VERBATIM from the TBSBA.
At least provide credit where credit is due... |

I would if I had known. I let my owners give suggestions and one owner gave me that suggestion. Dennis Hawkins, is he in that league?

I was surprised by this rule:
[quote]Players will get better or get worse from season to season, that's part of OOTP3, but, after each season in real life, I will go over the player's ratings and compare them to there real-life performance. If a player has proven himself in real-life, then I will make changes to the player's ratings in the leaugue to reflect his performance.

Is this a common rule in online leagues featuring real life players? My only online league experience is with fictional players but I was surprised to see a rule like this. It seems very subjective and could be the cause for tension or arguments among GM's over what is or isn't a break-out season. Also, assuming you sim faster than 1 DSBL season per Major League season, the off-season player rating adjustments would not coincide in the game as with real life.

Sorry guys, I have no problem giving credit, I just gave it to the owner's that suggested them I am adding the credits to my league rules page right now because I do beleive in giving credit where it is due.
As for that rules adjusting rule, that's only after one real time major league season, it was really for the initial season since by the time another major league season is over, there is no telling how far we'll be in the league... Once again, I am going to give some credit to those leagues right now, thanks for pointing it out guys...

If I can get the URL for the TBSBL, I would be happy to add a link to it on the rules page. I already have links to the FBBL and CBL.

some things are easy to say it may not have been copied, but when Hooty McBoobity has been mentioned in other leagues rules, you know they were taken from mine.
Actually, i've reworked my arbitration so that's no longer in there, but still... links on others pages for credit is always good... translates into more visitors. |

I recommend to any commissioners that you should: a. get permission b. give credit and/or put email messages on site as proof c. put link to league on rules. |
