you are mixing career ratings with yearly ratings. they are different things.

in any year a player can have a variance in their ratings in any category.

Shohei Ohtani in 2018 only has 1 stamina, making him a relief pitcher, not a starter.

stamina is game generated. the database is not directly involved.

Historical Exhibition Mode. Gary DiSarcina does not import with the 1995 Angels using either opening day or end of season rosters (he should be on both). I reported this late in the last game's cycle, but apparently no one fixed it.

Players Missing History Prior to 2019

Looks like the players have no previous history. I seem to remember from OOTP19 that their history would say what round they were drafted, plus any other major updates (trades, awards, etc.) Maybe I'm imagining that? (I'm at work and didn't get a chance to verify last night). Anyway, it's nice to see that history in there.

Some more from 1885

First one I forgot from the previous year...

J Fisher (781) is listed as John Fischer (maybe he is already there as a minor leaguer in 86?) at BBRef
https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=fisher002j--

Ed Gastfield (major) and Edward Gastfield ( minor) are the same player
https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=gastfi001ed-

And now 1885...

Hank O'day, 920 - major and 828 - minor
Billy Palmer, 1231- major and 807 - minor
Sim Bullas, 709 - major and 1179 - minor
James Burke, 502 - major and 1178 - minor
John Connor, 732 - major and 1145 - minor
Buck Gladmon, 612 - major and 1071 - minor
Bernie Graham, 803 - major and 1070 - minor
John Hiland, 1253 - major and 1043 - minor
Ed Knouff, 1247 - major and 1144 - minor
Bill Schenck, 564 - major and 1227 - minor
Tug Wilson, 1011 - major and 1310 - minor

You have two John Siegel in the database:
#961 is Fred Siegel https://www.baseball-reference.com/p...iegejo01.shtml
#1286 is John Siegel https://www.baseball-reference.com/r...d=siegel002joh

It's from OOTP 19, so maybe it's the reason why there is some difference...

I started a 1871 historical replay. Only 114 players imported. I originally thought it may have been a reappearance of last year's Cuban player issue, ie Steve Bellan; but no, it was Pete Donnelly (Fort Wayne) that was missing. He doesn't show up in a search of the Master.csv.

Not the biggest deal but Fred Mauer (1886) is listed as Henry Brooks (1305) in the game... I guess BBR changed his name since his code in the website is brookha01

I'll go from memory here as 1872 is done since a long time, but there is a player named U Kavanaugh (152) in the database who is listed as James Cavanagh at BBR.

Batter strikeouts from 1901-1913 have been part of the database since the time when encyclopedias would just leave the number blank because the records were not official. The database solved the problem by giving all the players approximately the same ratio of strikeouts to plate appearances. Since then research has been done and Baseball-Reference has strikeout totals in place that differ considerably from those in the OOTP database.

In putting together my 1924 NeL Draft Pool for MTBA ... I believe these two IDs in Minor League DB are the same player

173409 salaza001laz
173411 salaza049laz

Can you let me know which one you keep please, so I can ensure my historical player import file for the NeL will be correct when I pull the plug on it in 2-3 weeks....

Thank you for all you do....

96 such instances were fixed by Hoiles and should be in the next build or two.

salaza049laz = keeping
