Last month's leaders, the Indians and the Braves, have cooled off during May. This season the name of the game is pitching, at least four pitchers are killing it this year.
Last year is was the year of the Home Run.

July 1st 1931 Update
The Washington Senators go 20-8 in June to race to the top of the American League. Over in the National League, the Boston Braves have cooled a bit but still lead the Chicago Cubs by 2.5 games.

August 1st 1931 Update
Two teams were red hot during the month, The Boston Red Sox and Cincinnati Reds. Boston reels off 9 straight wins while the Reds were able to overtake the Braves atop
the National League, but fell a few games off at the end of the month. Reds won 11 in a row, 10 to start off the month. In the American League, the Senators lead is shrinking.

We are coming down to the last part of the season with around 26 games to go. In the American League, the Washington Senators need to hold off the Boston Red Sox. Boston
has the best second half record at 27-15. Over in the National League, it looks to be the Cincinnati Red show. The Reds have opened a 4.5 game lead over the Boston Braves.
The Reds hold the second best second half record 26-17. There are two races, one in each league, as to see which pitcher will win the Triple Crown, both look very tight and most
likely come down to the wire.

At one time the Cleveland Indians were sitting at the top of the American League with a 10-1 record, but have fallen off the face of the League to last place. The Chicago White Sox
won 13 straight games to claim that top spot. In the National League it was anyone's ballgame to sit atop. The current 4 top teams at one time or another were in first place.
