Getting into more in depth Jersey Creation...Opinions
So I've really started getting the hang of using paint.net and utilizing layers for jersey creation. I'm still a step or two behind, but I wanted some opinions from those expert creators...here's some of my stuff:

Looks very good to me. I think its great when you can look at a jersey and know who created it by all the little personal touches. Thumbs up!
But hey, what do I know... Last edited by Gern44; 05-16-2013 at 12:04 PM. |

He's lying, he told me he hates them. Really. He did.
But honestly BSA... one of my better contributions has been the underarm shading layers. I've no idea how many people actually use them, but I think they are huge. I always hated the lack of definition between the body and the arms. I created these for OOTP10 (or OOTPX, whatever) and these aren't perfect, and I have tweaked them alot, but perhaps you'll find them a good starting point. Or you'll completely hate them. Whichever. EDIT: Updated Layers posted below! Try them out... change the layer styles... try different opacities. Stack the layers multiple times... whatever it takes. Or just take the concept and create new layers that you prefer. Last edited by Gern44; 05-16-2013 at 12:52 PM. |

Good to know... thanks. At least some of my efforts aren't wasted. Make sure you test and tweak them. In their 'default' state, they don't look too good... at least to my eyes.

Quick question: How do you modify the palettein the upper corner? (the circle with that contains the template).
Each time I try to modify it my Adobe photoshop crashes on me!

Update:
Here are the Underarm Shading layers I use for OOTP14. They may not look a lot different, but they really are. Im pleased with these. |

Nit-picking.
It's Coaticook without the final e and it means "Where the river is bordered by white pines" in abénakis the local indian language. I really like the design and would use it for my Quebec minor league. Last edited by JRP; 05-16-2013 at 01:05 PM. |

Yeah that's what I meant. Okay I figured using the paint bucket tool was the way to fill each quad. My version of Adobe tends to be a little buggy. No big deal. Thanks!

BSA, I hope that somewhere in this thread we've managed to provide you with some constructive feedback!!
I dont know if you'd find it helpful, but my Jersey Template is available for download in my signature. It's the button called Jersey Tutorial. Just use the Download link on the right hand side, toward the bottom. I'll fix that name sometime... maybe. Last edited by Gern44; 05-16-2013 at 01:15 PM. |

JRP - I jumped into a new online league and this was one of my minor league squads...I'd never heard of it to be honest. But that's how it was spelled. The creator must have misspelled it in game.
Gern - you guys have been massive helps, not just today, but over time. I read the boards way more than I post, so I've learned a lot just by reading. I've come a long way since my first jersey attempts back in September. Those templates will help out a ton, so I appreciate them. I've never seen so many layers on one template before, so I'm going to have to get accustom to it. Silvam - you have been someone I have paid very close attention to when it comes to jersey style and creation. I'm trying to develop my own 'brand' if you will. I like the oversized logo look on a lot of jerseys, but I haven't quite come up with the texture I want...but I'm getting close. Thanks to everyone for their input. Gern...I'm looking forward to seeing that zipper look man. |

BSA- like the jerseys, having recently started myself with the help of some of the same great community members, I like your work. The stripes on the sleeves w the text is a nice touch. Can't wait to see what you come up with in the future.
Gern- people use your layers and love them duh! Lol well I'm one of them, like these newer shading layers for the underarm too. I hear whispers of some updated templates possibly from you as well.... |
